Here's my 2 cents: Pretty sure this fits the same niche as inflation. Removing the butt would allow artists to just draw the character with a more rounded shape overall.

Also I know better. These ballonspergs war with actual pear fetishists. They hate each other.

My best guess is when they saw inflation/weight gain in cartoons it was more stylized and ballooney so their brains were riding a train to Brosnanland until a caboose fell off and ran into a tree. I heard they like the “plush” and “beanbag” quality but it just looks painful. If they lost weight it would just a skeleton on a large torso. I just wonder why they don’t “grow out of it” and graduate to big boy glorifying obesity?
