My ADHD wasn’t diagnosed until my thirties, and it was a relief to understand why certain things had so challenged me. It was also infuriating to know there was help available the whole time. But it never occurred to me to claim that it was capitalism’s fault (lmao) that the world demands I show up for life like a responsible adult.
Then again, what do I know? I managed to get good grades and get through life without abandoning any of my kids. Fat, please teach us how to live right!

Fatty loves to appeal to medical authority when it's convenient such as with COVID and trannies ("show me where transgenderism is in the DSM") but when it comes to both his major defining diagnosis he rejects the established consensus of medical professionals. "ADHD is not a disorder" and "My BMI of 31 [if he's to be believed] is not fat by any medical definition"
From their perspective, facing consequences for their retardation is against the interest of authors, so it makes sense that they'd at least put up a little bit of an opposition. I'd argue they already utterly failed their mission by not giving fatty adequate legal counsel before the lolsuit so he'd drop it, so maybe they have a guilty conscience about driving a mentally challenged man onto financial ruin.
Speaking of SFWA, maybe I'm reading too much into it but isn't it curious that Pig is writing the Christmas Carol sequel that is outside their scifi/fantasy/horror scope? You'd think if he was in such good terms they'd shill his books, give him awards for publicity, etc.? so he could repay his debts, but if he writes a different genre they can't do that much for him

IIRC the genre doesn't matter so much if he's already a member. I don't think SFWA does much to promote their no-name writers anyway. But his Christmas Carol sequel doesn't even have a publisher and probably never will, since it's pure shit written by a fat dude in a bar smashing his laptop keys with piggy fingers in between scarfing down pepperoni. No one's going to promote that.

Incidentally what are a couple of things ADHD is associated with? Increased substance abuse, shocker I know, reckless, impulsive actions, failure to complete projects, etc.

Given that ADHD, anxiety, and histamine intolerance are all common comorbidities of autism, and mental rigidity and obsession are part of the disorder proper, I am reconsidering my earlier dismissal of the idea of Pat being autistic as premature. Depression is also a very common autistic comorbidity, but Pat seems like the sort of person who wouldn't admit to depression even to himself let alone anyone else. Some 'psychologist' Pat's mother is, to not notice her own son may have had autism. Either that, or her own narcissism led her to refuse to admit that her special golden boy could have anything like that wrong with him.
