The moment all this political bullshit starts to eat up the entire PH Vtubing scene will be the moment I'll pray that China will nuke us until we're nothing more but a single speck of dirt buried underneath the blue, endless seas.
With that said, election season has always been a shitshow. But this is the greatest shitshow of all shitshows to date. There have been speculations of investors retracting from our country. But most notably there have been speculations about Paypal withdrawing their services in this country (there is no formal announcement and they've denied those claims so far, which is good). I don't know what to believe especially since everyone is panicking and spreading rumors like crazy. But I'll try to look for solid sources if I'm bothered enough to care about it.
Everyone's scared shitless because they may lose their livelihoods over this debacle. Especially artists. Here's a compilation:

First of all, why would investors retract for the sole reason that a certain politician may win as the president of Philippines? That doesn't make sense. I'm no expert in business but there's always money to be made and you can always kiss ass to make a profit at the expense of anyone. Second, why would Paypal withdraw their services? There's no way a major service provider would just screw over their userbase because of some guy getting put into power as president. And lastly, why the fuck would you retract commissions solely because of, again, "that guy"?
Ya think that just because some politician is winning it doesn't mean we've all voted for that guy. I mean, I get it. Nobody wants to be associated (in one way or another) with some dude with a dubious track record in politics. But this is just unreasonable. Why retract a commission from an artist who's just trying to make a living even though the artist is not associated in any way to some son of a dictator or something.
There's just fake news everywhere. Speculations. Rumors. Fearmongering. Ragebaiting. Misinformation. All that jazz. Everyone's panicking like a pack of rabid dogs.
I can only hope that these artists won't lose their livelihoods over something as trivial as this. We have a lot of great talented people. Even though I hate this country down to its core, they don't deserve any of this. I've begun noticing that some of the Vtubers around here have started to become vocal about politics. I worry about them because it might cause a domino effect. Maybe I'm just doomposting but hopefully it doesn't eat up the whole Vtubing scene around here. Heck, it might take down Millie along with it.
This is why I heavily disdain politics. It ruins everything it touches. And if I'm ever getting into politics I'll only be shitting at retards from both sides. Now give me your MATI stickers.
