Going to go ahead and guess that frisking them and asking them questions was irrelevant because they already knew they had connections to the TDF and came there specifically to kill them. Obviously a war crime but Russia would probably just say they considered those 2 spies and summary execution of spies is a-ok so akshually you can't do anything about it.

The rest of the story makes complete sense; they knew or at least suspected it was a TDF hotspot and stayed to shoot anyone who returned. I advise everyone who supports a side in this war to not let yourself fall into the pit of "everything that shows my side committing war crimes is fake". War crimes are committed. They always were and always will be, it's why there's mechanisms in place to prevent this and punish them when prevention isn't possible. Unfortunately more often than not, militaries protect their own. If any justice comes to these guys, it will be in the form of HE or 7.62.

Also, to what @Fougaro said. Serbians are masters of cope, they've been coping since the 14th century and haven't slowed down since. They're also massive Russo-cucks (for historic reasons) so it doesn't surprise me that whoever was ballsy enough to go fight for the Russians, would start coping for them as well. I'll be fair to him and say that i don't think he made most of it up, but is just the Vatnik copium he has been given. The frontline was pushed away from the DPR/LPR/Whatever-the-fuck-R pretty early in the war and since the Russians don't trust their equipment or training they've been told to stay static in the region and run security. That's where all the photos of people standing around checkpoints with Mosins and SKSs come from. So your friend Deki there has probably just been sitting in a checkpoint for the passed month and a half, if that.
