Skipping ads in YouTube now brings you to another ad

I am getting increasingly tired of JewTube's bullshit. The ads used to be okay until about 2020-ish, which is when they started doing the whole double ads, unskippable 15-second ads, no longer making the ad markers visible bullshit, etc. It doesn't help that it feels like more and more of the ads seem to be literal scams. I'm starting to see shit like people trying to "advertise" GTA VI by hobbling together shit from Need For Speed and modded GTA V together, as well as more "HERE'S HOW YOU CAN GET RICH QUICK AS LONG AS YOU PAY FOR MY BULLSHIT ONLINE SEMINAR" type of ads. Of course, I use an ad-blocker but on iPhone I'm completely fucked as I can't even jailbreak my phone to install a tweak that gets rid of this bullshit.
Then there's the constant bullshit interface changes they keep doing. While most of these are on mobile, unfortunately a lot of them are making there way to the web version as well. Sub-1 minute videos are now being forced into this TikTok bullshit "YouTube Shorts" interface. The comments section on mobile is now relegated to this small window on the screen you have to click to open, probably so they can funnel you more garbage they want you to watch. Unfortunately they seem to be trying to push similar shit on the desktop site as well:

Of course, there's also the bullshit removal of features such as a proper dislike counter, annotations, the constant bullshit spam that gets through the comment filters,.. I'd like to ask what the fuck happened but I already know the answer to that question.

I have the actual official YouTube Vanced app and neither the app itself not the manager app prompt me to install whatever the fuck this is. It seems like you got some scam version. Also the whole reason Vanced got ditched is because Google sent a C&D over logo similarities, so there is no way on hell this PlayTube thing came from the same people that made Vanced.

EDIT: This PlayTube thing is on Google Play. Vanced was never available on Google Play, you always had to sideload it. So yeah, great job, you installed a scam app that might as well be a virus.

On your computer, instead of youtube.com you can also use one of the piped instances, piped is a frontend that isn't as incredibly bloated as the youtube website is (even with adblocker) and has a few neat features like ad- and sponsor/self-promoting blocking built right in. (basically a system where specific parts of the videos get flagged by the community and put in a list and the player skips them automatically - parts like "smash that like and subscribe button" etc.)

I have everything setup that it redirects every call to youtube.com automatically to one of the better instances at random, haven't seen the actual youtube website in a while.

You know, I don't get why Youtube doesn't let you select what kind of ads you put for each ad break during midroll ads. It would make things way better if you can just select to do a banner ad instead of a video ad, as then you could place them without screwing up the flow of the video. Sure, you can select to do only banner ads but that would be stupid as those are such a low fraction of the overall revenue.

I feel like they could do way more by allowing more versatility with ads that just doing shit like this.

On my work computer though any program or add-on installation is blocked, including ad blockers. How absolutely insufferable the Internet becomes without it makes me think half the reason is to discourage browsing non work stuff.

It looks like reVanced is chugging along. In the meantime, is there anywhere I can get the old Vanced? Between Brave/Sponsorblock on my desktop and using vanced on my old phone, using youtube on my new device is nothing but pain.

What kind of a question is that, of course they are. Not a single add goes without the pedo flag and/or apes with white women, also the most "moderate" possible ad you can see is a "all star lineup" type of ad, where you'll have white woman (it will never be a white man) asian guy, noodle hair nignog and a androgynous entity.

Few companies try to avoid this by using animal characters instead, but that shit won't fly for too long. Klaus will give them a ring, better get rid of those "cute squirrels" buddy, that ain't it....and I'm not gonna phone you again.

Not as good is at the start, and even worse is in the middle.

I wish I had a way of installing an adblocker on my router. PlayStation's YouTube app is unwatchably saturated in ads lately and it's the easiest way to pull up videos on my TV right now. Otherwise, I use Brave exclusively on all of my devices. Casting from my phone to the TV works 3% of the time, too.
