General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

That said, there is no doubt in my mind that Sana used her art skill and résumé in that field to stand out and secure a place in Hololive, so the notion that she refuses to do the very thing that got her in over others really does kind of rub me the wrong way whenever I linger on it.
I think the fact that she can speak a decent amount of Japanese, she knows Ina, and her personality were way more important. I think Cover is looking mainly for a specific type of person and the ability to be entertaining rather than any specific skills, otherwise people like Ame wouldn't get in. The ability to make a good impression during the interview over what is on paper seems to be the biggest thing, considering who is known to have been turned down by HL.

Cover doesn't really seem to care what they do on stream as long as the person is entertaining.

kiara and mumei building up their resume for Vshojo. talking about maternity bras and butt pregnancy. switched off, not sure if they still are

thank you to whoever recommended this chuba.
  • several mentions of Holo and even sings Ghost so I felt a bit more comfortable. her singing is great.
  • speaks mostly english, but also uses japanese and apparently she can speak some type of chinese(?).
  • genki personality like a mix between nene and kiara. her voice is sort of like a hyper uruka. can get annoying, but because it was a karaoke that got reduced.
  • she's also part of a group called Kaiteki, although i don't know anything about the rest of the members.

Looks like the book club is tonight. I like that Pippa has become the de facto Lovecraft Vtuber. Lovecraft is one of my favorite authors and he gets way too much crap for being politically incorrect despite living a century ago and not being subject to modern day sensitivities. Half of the time I hear about his works it's from someone chastising him for being a horrible bigot while shamelessly ripping him off.

I was kind of hoping that Ina would read some Lovecraft stories but that was back when I first discovered her and thought that the girls could choose their own models.

Maybe for tonight's karaoke Pippa could do some Darkest of the Hillside Thickets. I kind of doubt she has heard of them but I think their goofy take on cosmic horror would suit her well.

One of that jevtuber girl Emi Suika streamed today Road 96. And i don't know why, but i watched full stream. She speak english all time. Her jewenglish not bad but she doesn't read English well. Looks like she is not a very familiar with games but she enjoyed that game and it was a pleasure to watch.

upd. but for girl not really familiar with games she has a really beef pc.

I understand Sana not wanting to do art streams in favor of wanting to do everything else and not be tied down to that artist role. Still, being an artist is what most likely got her in since she's been doing it for several years and then turning around to say "Yeah, I'm not planning doing art streams lol" would definitely rub people the wrong way, coupled with her not being around as much to stream.

I don't like her because everyone else in the company streams at least once a week, yet here comes this bitch able to stream once or twice a month with no repercussions? And the reason is health issues? If you got health issues that puts you out of commission for the entire month, why are you in this job, why are you in any job if it happens every month for the entire month.

I will never understand why ayame gets a pass from everyone
You're not paying her salary, if anyone would be mad it would be COVER and i don't see them firing her
This community really is like the wrestling community, really mundane stupid shit gets blown out of proportion into "SERIOUS ISSUES THAT MUST BE ADDRESSED!" she will be succesful as long as Hololive is succesful, that's the point of being in an agency (inb4 this comment becomes the catalyst for a 10 page long tribalistic cock measuring contest)
Your ass will never stop being shattered over that, will it?
Nijifans are true, honorable, warriors, once their honour has been contested they must avenge it and strike back agaisnt those who disrespect them.

No, the vtuber community is full of troons, libtards, commies and other left-leaning politispergs, general homosexuality of both men and women, furries and other wierd schizophrenics.
The wider community is pretty anti politics because they distract from the waifus, but the average leaning is probably center-left.
I can tolerate them over niggers any day.

This person cranks out a ton of cute Watson-centric comics, it's worth a look: AMELIA WATSON, VIRTUAL DETECTIVE

Amelia Watson the time traveler really is the most interesting character in Hololive from a worldbuilding perspective, IMO. There's so much potential there for really fucking awesome stories. Like she's not a magical girl, not a celestial demigod or a rabbit princess, she's originally just a human like anyone else but she happens to have this time machine pocketwatch, and through the imagination and endearing personality of our Amelia who got hired at Holo and gave the character life, has spawned an entire multiverse of power and a council of Ames. Small Ame alone is more chaotic than the avatar of chaos herself in holocouncil and makes a convenient (and entertaining) villain. Man...

She makes me think of a character from a webcomic i read called Gunnerkrigg Court, Katerina Donlan.

Kat's a normal human, an engineering prodigy who repairs and makes robots, robots who grow to see her as an Angel. As the comic progresses, Kat's technical skills and comprehension of basically any kind of systems steadily increases. IDK if there's some weird thing where the robots' religious belief in her is having an effect or if its something else, but at one point a different character who is sort of between this world and an invisible spirit world encounters Kat and she looks like this:

From a fantasy standpoint, I view Ame's character similar to that image, unseen and invisibly hidden behind a cute girl next door, very slightly pon but smart gremlin gamer detective. Amelia Watson is inevitable. And thankfully, apart from Small Ame, she's a sweetheart and has adopted an admirable profession focused on truth and justice... while still being a bit of a renegade and unpredictable.

Oh for fucks sake if it was anyone else taking month long breaks as often as she does, everbody would be betting how long until she graduated but god forbid you touch the holy name of the chink who lays the golden eggs

This is going to be a good stream. I'm not huge into Lovecraft but I really liked the King in Yellow by Robert Chambers which inspired Lovecraft and was ultimately incorporated into his work. There's something great about how the work instills a feeling of unease without just going into modern horror tropes.
