Sorry for the late response but funnily enough, AHH is actually one of the more level-headed “history” YouTubers. We have a thread documenting these YouTubers I’ve been following heavily the last few weeks . I’m convinced this is an untapped lolcow goldmine — people who think they’re smarter than they are, drifting towards political commentary/breadtube, and constantly putting their foot into their mouths on Twitter.

I do think the algorithm and fear of demonetization is why these history YouTubers went so fast and so hard pro-Ukraine w/o really looking at the whole situation. Nuance dies when livelihoods are on the line (and AHH was hit by demonetization hard several times in the past). Maybe when things cool down people can look at this objectively? Doubtful: they’ll probably just move to the next current thing to chase that $. Besides, historians, academics, journalists/propagandists, and politicians are all merging into that nebulous label of “experts” where they think that can be all of the above and receive automatic praise.

The question was how? If all the protests and resistance are really a consequence of Russia's actions, then why did they happen immediately after the Maidan? Either Russia foresaw the fall of Yanukovych and sent its agents to the eastern regions before the end of the Maidan, hence the meme about 5 D chess, or the protests had a local beginning, which was subsequently supported by Russia in the common interests of the two sides.


For some reason, you ignored the reason I suggested. Nothing happens just like that. You voiced the tools that could be used to implement the will of the local population. If there is a military arsenal in your region, does it mean that you will disconnect as a separate state? I think we missed a couple of steps here.

You need to understand these types of territorial disputes and blood feudes don't get formed in an instant or over one single event. For all the Serbian sabre rattling of "KOsOV jE SErbIa" ethnic Albanians in the region have been contesting Serbian rule since at least the 12th century when they became a breakaway principality if not before that. Catalonia has constantly gone in and out of an autonomous state, trying to seperate from Spain. Crimea again, theres been lots of back and forth and legitimate hostility with the rest of Ukraine.

If these conflicts and seperatist movements just appear out of nowhere with no prior history then it's 100% glowie manufactured horse shit. It's not hard to lead someone who is poor, hungry and stupid by the nose, and Ukranians were and are all three of those things.

In regards to Transnistria, it was purely a political matter. Most of the soldiers stationed there and the administration, came from the USSR so it wasn't about ethnicity as much as political indoctrination.

Another thing that mustn't be ignored is that Russian speaking populations are often pretty old, many of them are pensioners or underemployed white trash. These people spend a lot of time watching Russian language news made in Russia, and these are 99% complete lies about what their own local government does, what Russia is like, retarded conspiracy theories about the West, etc.
You can't comprehend how demented and brainwashed people who were fed this crap for decades are by now. I know several of them personally. It's absolutely impossible to get through to them. Western countries are also getting older. The youth are often most likely to live at home well into their 30s, especially men. Hard drugs like meth and fentanyl are a huge problem. To supplement this, their governments import a huge amount of immigrants that live off of benefits, often getting free housing, food, childcare, etc, while the top performing immigrants displace the few highly compensating industries, depressing wages and making entry level positions that are needed to grow are scarce.

These people also spend a lot of time watching the media, especially social media with highly curated algorithms specially designed to provoke stress and anger. This is a Ukrainian mother as she would look during the famine of the 1930s, how mothers look when they grieve, and how many Ukrainians probably feel as a result of Russia's invasion. It's an ugly piece of work but it sure conveys its message clearly.

About what specifically? It's true that there's legitimate grievances underlying the breakaway bullshit republics, but it's also true that most likely none of them exist today if Russia hadn't intervened, and in the case of Ukraine, Russian glowniggers were instrumental in stoking that resentment into an uprising in the first place. Ukraine and Moldova are both countries that would have sought closer alignment with the EU, so a genocide of Russian speakers isn't a realistic proposal. Their grievances could be solved internally, politically, there's nothing that is a major problem (outside of Russian sponsored horseshit, everything Russians claim "western NGOs" do, Russian glowies actually do x 100).

It's also true that the people in those bullshit republics suffer the most under their status and that's especially visible in Ukraine where large Russian dominated cities exist happily and prosperously outside of the breakaway regions that have turned into utter hellholes under Russian "protection".

There's more political issues in all those countries, but none of them can be resolved while the Russian army maintains a military deadlock. And this deadlock and the suffering it causes everyone is the point of Russian policies in these regions, which is another reason it is absurd to claim Russia is acting out of humanitarian considerations.

It's hard to call them bullshit republics when they were told they can't speak Russian and they kept getting shelled after the 2014 coup.....

Given how the UK recently signed a deal that basically says "We'll consider Finland apart of NATO if Russia does shit during its ascension period" there's not much Russia can really do, not to mention Russia probably can't afford to open up a second front.

We definitely won't see these massive formations like we did in WW2, but there's a saying. The largest Airforce in the world is the United States Airforce, and the second largest is the United States Navy. A ton of US (and NATO for that matter) doctrine is assuring complete air superiority, Russia's doctrine relies on it's massive artillery pool, and NATO's relies on it's massive Airforce.

I'm seeing conservative rational estimates that Russia has squandered at a minimum 30%+ of their capable Tank inventory in Ukraine and well over 50% of their Logistical and Support Vehicles. They honestly don't have the hardware capacity to challenge Finland or Sweden. Nor do they have the manpower. And Finland and Sweden are the two places that they don't dare Nuke, because all of that shit would blow back onto Russia's main cities including Moscow within hours.
