Around here funeral homes perform services for babies for free no matter who you are.
I've never heard of adding wood ash to cremains. Maybe in some places they cremate babies in wood but here it's a metal box. They grind the bones by hand afterwards and having ash in it would make that annoying.

That's really not common practice. They may have been able to put the other twin in there.
Generally, whatever larger pieces left after a body passes through the cremator then go through a cremulator, which crushes these into a fine powder. What's left is more like a fine sand than "ash" as we think of it. It's not at all like the bottom of a fire pit after a bonfire.
I think the bag looks larger than it is because it's closer to the camera and being held by a child.
This one looks like it's being held by Kim, seems the eight size. Note the ID disc. This identifies the crematorium and the body.

I was referring to the pic of Kim holding it and it still looks awfully large. Cremains are bone char and a 2lb baby doesn't have that much bone. Yes I see the disc but funeral homes in poor areas are sketchy as fuck; it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was a mass cremation and they just shoveled out whatever was in the general area around the disc in the retort and threw it in a bag.

I have seen the cremains of a 3 lb boy later along and they would definitely fit in a sandwich bag. You only get a few percent of the weight of a person as ash and preterm babies have even less bone than an adult.

In some ways, I think this was Kim's ultimate dream scenario. Getting pregnant and then losing the baby is a perfect way to garner money and sympathy, and now she doesn't have to follow through and actually raise more children. She can't even raise the one she has, and Kim knows this. It's why she never cared to stop her reckless behaviors, most women stop doing everything and anything harmful while pregnant in order to ensure the success of their unborn child in utero. It is very unsettling watching her pose and act how she thinks grief is supposed to look like, but seeing the pure delight in her eyes due to the unfortunate circumstances that she can use as a grifting opportunity is even more...unsettling.
