Illegal migrants first to get ‘pallets’ of hard-to-find baby formula

The nationwide shortage of baby formula that has sent mothers desperately rushing from store to store has evaded one lucky group: illegal immigrants detained by Border Patrol.

According to videos posted by a Florida lawmaker, the Biden administration has been shipping “pallets” of baby formula to migrant holding facilities.

“They are sending pallets, pallets of baby formula to the border,” said Republican Rep. Kat Cammack in one of two online postings yesterday. “Meanwhile, in our own district at home, we cannot find baby formula,” she added, holding a photo of empty shelves where the formula would be.

Cammack said that a border agent sent her photographs of the deliveries, and she posted one online.

“They’re receiving pallets and more pallets of baby formula at the border,” she said holding one of the photos showing both Advantage brand formula and Gogo Squeez applesauce. “This was taken at Ursula processing facility [in McAllen, Texas] where thousands are being housed and processed and then released,” said Cammack.

She said the agent told her: “‘Kat, you would not believe the shipment I just brought in.’ He has been a border patrol agent for 30 years and he has never seen anything quite like this. He is a grandfather and he is saying that his own children can't get baby formula.”

The shortage was sparked by a manufacturing issue and then a rush on stores. The shortage has become one of the issues coloring the concerns about growing inflation and economic troubles under President Joe Biden.

The New York Times, for example, reported on the troubles Texas parents are having finding the formula that is being shipped by their homes to the migrant holding centers. In a story headlined, “A Baby Formula Shortage Leaves Desperate Parents Searching for Food,” the New York Times said: “Some parents are driving hours at a time in search of supplies. Others are watering down formula or rationing it, hoping for an end to the shortage.”

Cammack was not critical of migrants receiving the formula but said the administration should put American parents first.

“I don't know about you, but if I am a mother, anywhere anytime in America, and I go to my local Walmart or Target or Publix or Safeway or Kroger or wherever it may be that you shop and you are seeing their shelves and you are seeing signs that you are not able to get baby formula. And then you see the American government sending by the pallet thousands and thousands of containers of baby formula to the border, that would make my blood boil," she said.

She added: “It is not the childrens’ fault at all. But what is infuriating to me is that this is another example of the America last agenda that the Biden administration continues to perpetuate.”

I didn't know you can just claim asylum to a better country. I'm Canadian, think I can try it with America?
If you were with the trucker convoy there was a politician from either Arizona or New Mexico that tried give asylum for them.

For those from south America, I'm assuming it's a mix of places like Hondoras that are a shit hole and just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks. So many liberals here that will tell you mexico is great and your racist if you say otherwise while also saying we need to give asylum to all of them because it's so bad.

It was a while ago, but during the Mexican election cycle, one of their presidential candidates campaigned in California. Certainly nothing weird about a nation level politician campaigning for votes in a foreign fucking country.

Yada yada "all y'all should be breastfeeding". What you want folks to do with their babies when their milk just doesn't come in, or their supply is inadequate to meet baby's needs?

Wet nurses - or shared nursing - were a common feature of childrearing basically right up until commercial formula was developed because it has simply never been the case that every mother produced enough milk for each baby every time. Still not the case even with all of the drugs and machines we now have to assist lactation.

Breastfeeding's cool and the right to do it freely should be defended vigorously, but it's not the solution for all babies. Little ones gotta eat.
yeah this is total unmitigated bullshit

wetnurses existed because upperclass women wanted to party and upperclass men wanted to knock em up again to ensure enough heirs.. wetnursing frequently involved the wetnurse's actual child being weaned too early and dying.

crossnursing is normal but there is no human society where it was normal for a woman to provide the bulk of the calories for another woman's baby in conditions of social equality. wetnursing is something the upper classes imposed on poor people, like surrogacy is today.

Not a jail when they are being detained while asylum requests are being processed. All they have to do is turn around and go home to get their baby food. It's not the responsibility of Americans to feed them over themselves when resources are limited
"Uhhhhhhh you can just turn back trought the desert into your shithole to get some baby formula"
Are you aware that you are retarded?

Honestly if I showed up in a foreign land and the rulers started throwing goods and services at me while the locals were going hungry and losing their homes to inflation, I would be:

1. Embarrassed- hey I am glad for the help but very awkward.
2. SCARED- they're gonna lynch me, aren't they?

Shocking indictment of any of our southern neighbors headed up here both in terms of character and intelligence if they do NOT feel this way.

You may think that's odd, but the Turkish president has literally campaigned in Germany for at least the past three election cycles

The ones that come here illegally are either very desperate or stupid. Sometimes both.

This is the shit I hate. Instead of telling the truth and saying that this is all to make the American people poorer and powerless, as well as sowing the seeds for a low trust society. they go on about "hurr Dems so dumb they don't know what they're doing lol."

It's been decades at this point, they pretty much gathered that they're just going to get free shit and treated well.

I worked in a town called Pedro Juan Caballero for about a year. It’s in Paraguay right on the border with Brazil. Fun place. 10/10 would recommend although not as fun as Ciudad del Este.

So despite being in Paraguay about 7/10 of the people there were dual citizens of Brazil and Paraguay. Brazil requires them to vote in every election to retain their citizenship. They also require them to serve at least 12 months in the Brazilian military. This basically solidified the town to be more loyal to Brazil than the country they were living in because Brazilian citizenship was more valuable. If they went to war with Paraguay the town would fall with very little effort. Even if it didn’t, it was littered with men that had been in the Brazilian military. But the reason it exists is because it’s not Brazil and they can’t enforce as many of their laws there. (Although the Brazilian Police don’t stop at the border anymore, much to the chagrin of the Paraguayans). It was a center of crappy electronic goods, pirated vidya, and good times.

One of the unintended effects of this is that every politician involved in the election would try to bribe their Paraguayan Brazilian citizens. They’d offer them 50 reias for their vote, but there wasn’t any guarantee they’d vote that way. Some of the more astute voters there would promise to vote for multiple candidates and take as much cash as possible.

Something just occurred to me. A bottle's nipple is meant to simulate a woman's nipple, correct? By providing these illegals with such a surplus of baby formula, they're ensuring that these people will almost invariably vote blue in future elections... and have them suckling on the Democrat tit for years to come.
