He became paranoid about his first wife because he would come home to work to her... sitting in common spaces with their housemate who was also using those common spaces? That's ridiculous right from the get-go and not at all a sign of cheating - even if she was actually cheating on him, that's not a sign, that's two people who live in a place living in a place. ffs. So there's Tony being paranoid and untrusting, which aren't necessarily abusive traits but are definitely yellow flags ("caution").

But more importantly, here we see Tony declaring that he feels it is within his power and right to completely deny his partner any right to privacy or private thought. He's decided that he gets to control whether or not she gets to keep a private diary, and that he gets the right to read her diary whenever he sees fit (again, denying her privacy). That kind of controlling behavior and denial of privacy to a partner are abusive behaviors. Straight up. The fact that he took the time and energy to figure out how to hack/read her diary knowing that she would not want him doing that - even if the solution was easy, he still would have had to take time to figure it out - makes it worse.

That second comment is also really telling. He admits that he knows it makes things uncomfortable for everyone, but he can't just not badmouth his ex - he has to make sure everyone he meets and, let's be real, definitely every mutual friend and acquaintance he and his ex ever had, knows that she's a cheater. The way he frames it ("I won't cover for her" when what he's describing refusing to do is just a social norm/grace) is just so... I don't know how to describe it. He literally believes that it's more important to make sure everyone knows his ex is a dirty evilbad cheater than it is to refrain from making others uncomfortable. That says a lot about his personality and the kind of person he is.

I really wonder what his ex-wives would say about Tony and their relationship with him. Based on his own posts and what he himself admits, he sounds at best like a manipulative user with abusive tendencies.

(I feel like I should note that I'm not like.. stanning cheaters here. Cheating sucks. However, I believe cheating when you're in an abusive relationship is 100% not a problem.)

I can sort of give a pass to someone looking through stuff to confirm cheating suspicions. But him telling everyone she cheated is 100% him being butthurt and wanting to make people dislike her. Even if someone cheated on you and was the biggest piece of shit in the world, it's common courtesy to not divulge these matters. You simply say "It didn't work out" and if people press for more information you say "We had different goals in life" or some bullshit.
