Can seeing hyperspace in SW make one go mad or is that more of a WH40K thing?

Regular people found it maddening, Sith Lords found it comforting:

"Hyper-rapture was a supposed form of madness acquired from staring into hyperspace for a prolonged time. The standard procedure for Imperial ships was to opaque the transparisteel slabs while traveling through hyperspace to prevent this. However, Darth Vader enjoyed staring at the kaleidoscopic and swirling patterns of light, and Cronal found it soothing to gaze into what he thought of as the emptiness outside the universe."

At one point there were plans for a proper sequel to Jedi Knight 2, taking place after the events of Jedi Academy.

This is a list of cancelled games from the book on Lucasarts, called Rogue Leader. It seems like they hadn't landed on a title yet, there are a couple listed with the same logo (the crossed Jedi Outcast swords).
O what might have been!

*cue the face Wings did when he saw a younger, thinner picture of himself, you know the one, I just couldnt find it online*

We could have gotten all of these....
And instead, in more than a decade, we only got decency at the best of times...

*siiiigh and eats a banquet meal in silent defeated agony*
Shadows of the Sith was a game pitched by Dark Horse writer (and later Force Unleashed creator) Hayden Blackman, that wasn't based on any treatments by George, but what is in fact an EU game that was set post-NJO, that would've starred a young Ben Skywalker facing off with a newly-turned Sith version of Jacen Solo.

And this was pitched in 2003. Which lends credence to the idea that quite a few different people from different divisions at LFL were keen on the idea of Jacen going dark (instead of being solely pushed by Troy Denning, as so many NJO purists mistakenly believe).

To be fair, Jacen going to the dark side never sat right with me. It felt just an attempt at have Vader 2.0 and him clashing with his sister.

With that said, at least I much enjoy what they did with him in comparison to Kylo Ren. Jacen had, you know, motivations and complexity.
Hence why I love Legacy of the Force so much, as it gives us exactly that...as well as Jaina and Jacen ultimately having a heart-wrenching sibling face-off at the series' finale.

You know, I always pictured Battle of the heroes playing with Jaina and Jacen dueling for the last time, kind of it all coming full circle.

The power of imagination, I suppose
The Final Order commanders could have easily solved the problem by tilting their ship and letting all the stupid horses and their riders plummet to their doom.

"Hey aww, Bob? Could you press that button over there?"
"Oh this one?"
"Yeah, that one"
"Okay boss *press it and horrific screams of niggers on space horses echo outside after getting zapped like bugs on a light trap*
"Thank you"
Force Awakens had a few that slipped under the radar. How is Poe still alive after crashing the TIE Fighter and was nowhere to be found in a wide open desert? How does going at Lightspeed help get you through a protective forcefield and why hasn't anyone done this before? Doesn't this also make forcefields kind of useless if there is an easy workaround?

I always assumed that going through with hyperspace was something extremely risky that only someone with the skills of Han Solo could pull it off. I dont know, it didnt feel hard to swallow like the hyperspace ram but I guess when you put it that way...
I'm not sure whether I hate Last Jedi or Rise of Skywalker more. The former is full of contempt for the fanbase, while the latter is amateur hour on full display.

Its a subjective thing.
TLJ is more insulting
ROS is more desperate, aimless and even condescending (as in "see what you made us do? WHY YOU HAD TO DISLIKE TLJ ?! NOW WE STUCK DOING STUPID SHIT")
TROS has that really funny scene where rey holds the dagger that stabs her father and mother that don't even look like palpatine and goes:
"Horrible thing have happened with this dagger" while also holding Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber she's been very silent about.

At this point, the only thing to look forward to each year is people dunking on the sequel trilogy.

SHUT IT DOWN, SHUT IT DOWN!!

WE DIDNT GET THE ANSWERS WE WANTED! SHUT IT DOWN NOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!

To be fair, at least the SWEU died with some decency. It had shit in it, sure, but it was a tolerable level of shit, as opposed to the SJW pandering that dominated modern Marvel and Star Wars in the mid-2010s, as well as other franchises.

Could you imagine if they tried to continue SW Legends with SJW writers? Yikes. Imagine that Jedi Knight sequel written by someone who thinks that Anita Sarkeesian was right. You'd just get TLJ in video game form.

To be fair, Jacen going to the dark side never sat right with me. It felt just an attempt at have Vader 2.0 and him clashing with his sister.
It was even worse than Vader 2.0, because at least that had buildup to it, and the Jedi Council were openly shafting Anakin and forcing him to do unethical shit, so him losing faith in them is natural, whereas the New Jedi Order have never denied Jacen anything. If he continued to do what was morally correct, things would have panned out well, the Second Galactic Civil War would have died down, and he could continue being a good Jedi and a good man. Whereas with Anakin, that was not the case, as his duty as a protector of the Republic and a Jedi got him into a position where he had to choose one side or the other, and he chose the side that had, in his mind, the net positive.

With that said, at least I much enjoy what they did with him in comparison to Kylo Ren. Jacen had, you know, motivations and complexity.
Kylo Ren was still inspired by Jacen Solo. And Jacen's whole "I want to bring permanent order and peace" thing just reeked of being a cheap copy of Palpatine. At least Palps had the good foresight to be patient and wait years for his plans to take fruition, so he could eradicate all his foes in a single, glorious day. That, and he was far more charming and believable when he went about it.

You know, I always pictured Battle of the heroes playing with Jaina and Jacen dueling for the last time, kind of it all coming full circle.

The power of imagination, I suppose
Jaina: "It's over Jacen! I have the high ground!"

Jacen: "You underestimate my power!"

Jaina: "Don't try it!"

(Jacen jumps, Jaina cuts off his limbs)

Jaina: "YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE! IT WAS SAID THAT YOU WOULD BE THE LIGHT OF THE JEDI ORDER, NOT IT'S BANE! BRING BALANCE TO THE FORCE, NOT LEAVE IT IN DARKNESS!"

Jacen: "I HATE YOU!"

Jaina: "You were my brother, Jacen. I loved you........."

Its a subjective thing.
TLJ is more insulting
ROS is more desperate, aimless and even condescending (as in "see what you made us do? WHY YOU HAD TO DISLIKE TLJ ?! NOW WE STUCK DOING STUPID SHIT")
And the funny thing is that, as I've stated before, these Hollywood feminists whine about sexist men and try to inject feminism into their movies to piss off male fanboys, because back in the real world, they're still the playthings of men, and they can't do anything about it other than quit and find another job.

But as it stands, RoS had some decent concepts, but were poorly executed. Dark Empire showed what could have been possible if you carried out said concepts better.

George was actually a chad when he was young. He liked racing cars and chasing girls around.

Fun fact about George: He was an uncredited editor on A New Hope. He took his name off so that he could highlight the work done by Paul Hirsh, Richard Chew, and Marcia Lucas. This is the same reason why he credited Leigh Brackett for the Empire Strikes Back script even though he used very little of what she wrote in the finished films.

Retards who hate George think that because he didn't put his name on the movies that he had nothing to do with the movies being good.

Another fun fact: George as a 78 year old man has a better hairline than Rian Johnson who's not even 50 yet and is going bald. This is why he decided to shit all over what he created with TLJ.

Don’t know if this has been posted on here yet, but this is a fantastic edit.
I'm gonna be honest, the OT was so damn good at giving immense power to scenes that arguably shouldn't work so well as they're just expositing off-screen shit; and nothing in the Prequels, Sequels or even Legends were able to really capture/emulate this. It's a mystical feel that's just absolutely perfect.

We interrupt this thread's usual bout of autism to say...

Happy late birthday George. You may suck at directing actors and writing human dialogue, but you got more heart, passion, and integrity than most people, especially Bob Iger, Kathleen Kennedy, Ryan Johnson, and JJ Abrams. You continue to inspire us.

God speed!

I think my main problem with Rouge One is the need to explain "The obvious weakness" in the Death Star, the movie would probably work a lot better if they where just stealing the Death Star's schematics to try and find a weakness and then deciding that the exhaust vents from the main gun would suffice, especially since in Episode 4 we are shown that the computer specifically desinged to make the shot misses several times and its only once Luke uses the force that he lands the shot, meaning that even the best pilot in the universe would have been unable to destroy the Death Star (unless he had the force), and suddenly it makes sense the emperor thinks that only a powerful force user could destroy the Death Star, that probably means that less than 1% of the galaxy could destroy it so the odds are really low.

I did enjoy the Vader Hallway scene tho
