General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

EDIT:
To not double post
I'm checking out Pippa's little sister for the first time and
...yeah not digging it too much. I instantly heard what someone else was talking about that it sounds like they just picked someone off the street and gave her face rigging. Her voice doesn't fit the model either. She sounds like she helps her dad work his deli in one of the boroughs. She also has that thing where it sounds like she's fake yelling at times, like a minecraft kid trying not to disturb their parents. I hope she finds her stride and is able to make her character work. She did say at the end that she'll predominately streaming in English and from time to time switching to Hebrew so that's neat. I'll check her out in maybe a month or so to see if she's progressed and I wish her only the best.

Yeah, Neo is still finding out what works for her when she's streaming. Her FNAF: Security Breach stream was pretty entertaining and I think her best streams will be with horror or rage/puzzle games from what I've watched, but the voice is a bit of a hurdle.

That said, Idol Corp does have some pretty decent members. Kattatrina Qutie is probably the top one, as she has streamed before without a doubt, and tends to have fun streams. She interacts with chat a bunch too which is is nice, and her most recent stream definitely made her someone I watch now

If this is too long for you, here's some clips

I'm a bit busy now, so I'll get into the others in a later post.

A most opportune response.

I'm not sure what that entails but Vox, Millie, Enna, Yugo and some other as yet unknown members were in a Discord call, and Vox kind of coached them into trusting themselves more and creating only the stuff that they want to create.

Millie said she's been a lot happier recently thanks to his words and tbh her average viewership has been steadily increasing in response to that. Same goes for Yugo, who was at one point the only male member averaging <2k viewers, is now averaging >3k.

I don't like Vox's solo content (I think he's funny as fuck in collabs with the girls), but he has a directly positive effect on the group. More 'Millie does stupid shit' streams is a win to me.
I actually never heard of this happening but it makes so much sense that Vox be the one to know so much about tapping into niches and making it into something more.

I personally also don't like his more fanservice-y content, but I always sort of admired the way he manages to know what would sell really well and how to use it to his advantage, now being one of the fastest growing channels in Nijisanji in general only after 5 months. His coaching also seems to work really well because I admittedly did start falling off Millie's content after a while but with the recent tagalog streams and more variety-type content, I'm now starting to look forward to more streams from her again.

Non sequitur but do you guys ever watch Vannamelon? Kind of a vtuber, she uses the 3d rig thing for vids but she doesn't really stream.

I like her vids, but she's trying too hard to sound like a kawaii anime girl lately.
You compare her isabelle voice in this vid from 2015 to the one she does now and it becomes clear she's cranked it up 500%

That being said, she's doing good stuff. And hotdiggedydemon is subbed to her on youtube. So she's doing something right.

Also seems the ship has sailed on Irys kimono and she hopes things go better next year she didn't elaborate on what happened just that it was no ones fault in particular
They really have dropped the ball with IRyS. I don't understand why it's so difficult to design a new outfit or kimono for her. It must suck seeing the other girls, including those who made their debut after you, get new stuff for their models.

I know people will say 'Maybe Redjuice is just too busy' but I'd like to think that these are the kinds of things you'd want to iron out before you commission an artist to illustrate a design in the first place.

Can you allot time once a year to create a new outfit? Can you meet deadlines? Can you create a design with a scope that doesn't tax you or the rigger disproportionately to existing members?

There are many artists who could've been hired to make an IRyS and also have made a kimono IRyS on time.

I mean, people expected a male, not a tranny, so its understandable.
I'm sorry to inform you, but randomly sperging about chinks and trannies isn't enough to become a master baiter. It takes a lot of dedication and autism to get anywhere to the level of @Scuttle. That, or being a SEAtard like @Rezza. Keep up the hustle, though.

So I decided to dive into their twitter to see the other updates on this and i found this

I think the TTS is dead bois

Good question tho that Zen dox vid that goes around here every so often has a ton of Zen fans in the comments saying they know and don't care
The fact it'd take more than one or two takes probably does imply dropping the TTS. I'm genuinely curious how this turns out; I don't really give a shit what someone is or identifies as, if they don't wish death on cis whites or whatever, and they did a bunch of physical comedy with the model that you rarely ever see in the industry, but the TTS was fucking unbearable and would put collabs to a screeching halt.

Might actually have to look into the debut and the following week or two, because if it really is a guy then I'm curious whether the viewer count winds up tanking. Either that, or it might be another case of someone else voicing the model or some shit.

Hoshikage Lapis has posted her teaser publicly. I don't know JP myself, maybe I could pause the vid to read individual lines for Google TL
For those interested to know, her crowdfunding campaign was quite successful, and she set a few additional things she will do with the money:

How to use the funds to achieve each stretch goal

Achieved 1 million yen ... Decided to make one song that I tried to sing
Achieved 1.5 million yen ... 2 songs decided to sing (3 songs in total)
Achieved 2 million yen ... Opening video production cost
Achieved 2.5 million yen ... Key visual & three-view drawing production cost
How the funds will be used when each stretch goal is achieved

1,000,000 yen achieved...1 song will be produced
1.5 million yen achieved...2 songs will be produced (3 songs in total)
2,000,000 yen raised...Opening video production costs
2.5 million yen raised: Key visual and three-page plan production costs

All in all, it seems the fortune teller reincarnation is off to a good start.

I can. Plenty of retards, fuckheads failing to read the room, trying way too hard to meme suicide into submission. I don't know if that was what made her private it but I'm willing to bet it may have been a factor. It's a real damn shame too because that was a real accomplishment for Rita. There was some real nice conversation between her and her guests and $7k in under 20 minutes, topping out at over $10k.
Just to clarify, she's only set it private in order to edit the VOD (blur out the donos that appeared on screen). On smaller channels, for a 4+ hour stream, it can take Youtube several days to process and put the VOD back up, even after the editing part is done. But it will be back up for sure.

A couple people mentioned the dono name GigaNigga, but honestly that one didn't even seem to faze her. It was shortly after that one, someone dropped a hard-R as a dono name, straight-up "HATENIGGERS" or "NIGGERKILLER" or very similar. I'm certain it was hard-R and all caps, at least. Rita was embarrassed that she left it on screen for 15+ seconds before noticing, because she was still reading the previous one.

She will have to blur it in the reading portion, and also go back and find when the dono came in and blur that too. She may also have to check for some of the other issues you mentioned. Bit of a sour note, but she handled it with grace and class.
Overall a very successful stream, and I'm glad it worked out so well for her!

Never watched Zentreya, but didn't people here say he used to have a girlfriend doing the voice for him, so it was like a two-person channel? Before the TTS of course. Maybe he found a new one.

(Should be timestamped to 1:05:06, right before the first song starts.)

Another case of "established content creator turns Vtuber": Ru's Piano.
If you're not familiar with her, she did cosplay piano videos of anime songs (think Pan Piano, subtract hornybait, add visible face, and you're there).

Not sure if she's Taiwanese or West Taiwanese... Edit: About page says Taiwanese.
Either way the debut was 95% in a language I don't understand nor enjoy hearing, so I just skimmed it and likely won't watch streams.
Despite that, it's notable for two reasons:
- over 2 million subscribers
- Live2D is in front of a piano with hand tracking (unfortunately it's wildly inaccurate, looks worse than not having it at all, but cool idea if it can be fixed up)

Shocking social experiment uncovers that most content creators' tastes are bland as shit. Tune in next time for the experiment of whether standing in the rain makes you wet. The one thing that I was honestly shocked by was that not a single one of them seem to have even mentioned Demon Slayer, I figured it'd be getting named a lot.
