Politics aside, we have a new generation of terminally online kissless virgins seemingly ready to wreak havoc for less and less.
The comments on "Dude is a lunatic", "He's sick in the head", you know the type; It's far, far beyond that, and I want you to understand the following. This person killed people, for the beliefs and convictions instilled upon him by people on the internet.
I pity the fool, but people don't need to be mentally ill to do these types of things. Give a man no perspective of a future, a turbulent economy and the 4th "once in a lifetime" crisis, and he's ready to do awful things.
Don't blame the player, blame the game - Karl Marx, 1995.
We're out of touch with reality, we're all isolated, desperate and poor. Internationally, the resurgence of a 1930's-esque instability is starting to put us up against each other. Your neighbor, is somehow now alien, dangerous, someone you kill in Minecraft.
So what caused this to happen to the new generation? I don't want to sound old, but back in my day kids were part of the community. They joined clubs, played sports, hell even becoming a regular at the local gas station because you're out mowing lawns and you need to fill 'er up gives you a sense of community. But there's nothing for these people to participate in, since for them, the community of old has been replaced by social media, and whether it's 4chan or Twitter, it doesn't matter because the autistic kids with no strong parental figure will all end up the same, it's just the flavor of that's different.
It's not about the left, the right, the woke, the based. Any spaces where these kids find temporary solace are breeding grounds for us as humanity to stray further and further away from each other, and that's exactly what they want, since that's what sells.
Though, implying that lonely, asocial men with more esoteric interests and thoughts, are dangerous, is the new high-school bullying. I know what I'd prefer, I'd much rather be bleeding from my nose from being beat into the school's locker, than being alienated over my ideas and beliefs.
Kids are isolated, and modern parenting and modern schooling hasn't done them any favors. Call me a child abuser, but I genuinely believe that taking a beating from the old-school high school bully gave you perspective.
All we've done with helicopter parenting and being over protective of our kids in schools, coupled with the economic and political climate is create a very real loser to terminally online mass shooter pipeline and this has been going on for the past years.
Case in point, look at the past 10 years and how this has developed. This wasn't common 10 years ago, but in recent years, especially since around 2017 or so, it started happening multiple times a year.
One last thing. He's old enough to vote. It's absolutely not the internet's fault, it's control over the internet, people being pushed into echo chambers, alienated, and everything I've explained above, much before it's the internet's fault for an impressionable kid to do something like this. Because if it's the internet's fault for making the guy do this, maybe think about how that ties into democracy and the right to vote. He's an adult, but unfortunately education and everything else has seriously let him down.
and tbdesu, goons gonna goon
