I think one of Boogie's more glaring traits of Narcissistic Personality Disorder is his complete lack of empathy. There is a lot of overlap between BPD and NPD with the Boogster, but one of his biggest issues is his complete inability to feel anything bad for anyone but himself.
I posted on here a while ago that you can't find a single instance of him genuinely apologizing or being empathetic towards anyone, and I stand by that. You can't. It is all fake, and it is never expressed to anyone close to him. He's never kind when he speaks about his deceased family or sister or brother. He is jealous of Dez, and on that 5+ minute live phone call with her, not once did he tell her "I'm so proud of you" or anything like that. He does not see her as a fellow human - simply a person to extract emotions from.
He went on stream to watch the story fire promo video of him fake crying at his mother's grave, but I just caught the end of it, which, of course, was him saying "this was a good video". If anyone would like to fill me in on what he said I'd appreciate it, he has been deleting his VODs lately (wonder why!), I'd love to see his excuses for and rationalization of that one.
This man lost his mother ten years ago, and the first time he ever visited her grave to pay respects and speak to her, he brought along his buddy to film him doing it with a planned camera shot at the end for a scripted video to promote a fucking video sharing service.
Boogie, in literally every sense of the word, pissed all over his mother's grave. He used her ashes as a prop in a video for short-term attention and monetary gain. Most people are simply not capable of acting in such a manner, but it comes easy to Boogie. He doesn't stop and think about what the other person would feel, because he doesn't care. He didn't care about TotalBiscuit when he died, or Etika, or that kid that got to play Smash early, or when his sister was apparently raped/stabbed/"gangraped in foster care", when Lucy Foxx was broke and struggling, when he caused Kat Blaque to have a panic attack after he threatened suicide to her publicly, when Race Rudder ACTUALLY died, or when Bob Saget/Gilbert Goffried died.
In all these situations, no matter how far removed Boogie was from the situation, he was the victim in some way or he was the hero. This is because the narcissist cannot live without praise and admiration. Boogie simply can't sit and mourn when something bad happens to someone else, or pay his respects. He notices that they are garnering attention, and it makes him jealous. He has to insert himself into every situation where he feels threatened, or realizes someone is getting more attention than him. It's why he's incapable of empathy. He comes first 100% of the time, even when someone fucking dies.
Steven J. Williams, you are a fantastic case study on Cluster B Personality Disorders. In a weird roundabout way, you've shown millions of people how to spot and avoid an abuser/narcissist, which means ultimately, in your attempt to "help people not be like me", you've succeeded. You are a flashing yellow warning for young people to avoid - you have every negative characteristic and personality trait a human being can have, with no pros to balance it all out.
"I have obviously struggled with narcissistic tendencies my whole life. I over compensate by over empathizing even with the people who hate me or hurt me. Especially them. Self destructive tendencies are my status quo. Fml. I am bojack." = "I have narcissistic traits, and I cope with them by pretending to care about others, specifically ones that don't like me, because it bothers me that I am not universally loved."
Love ya! <3
