Reading the Sasha Banks news makes my head hurt. Not sure what is a work and what is shoot.

Wouldn't surprise me if they were fired because of this and they set their sights for AEW. You have to love how the backstage drama in wrestling is more entertaining than what they air currently.

I think it has to be a work. Commentary mentioned it, which I don't remember them ever doing for Punk or anyone else, plus that official statement from the company. They always try to keep this kind of stuff on the down low, it's weird that they would make this one so public if it were real. That statement is way too detailed, also.

WWE shit on Austin and Warrior pretty hard when they both walked out at different periods, I think Vince even came out on Raw to tell the fans that Austin took his ball and went home and abandoned the fans. So I'm not sure really, seems like it could go either way.

Of course it's going to be Summerslam weekend in TN, a state that doesn't require licensing. Well...if you want to cap off your wrestling weekend by watching an old man die in the ring, here's your chance.
Edit: in regards to the Sasha/Naomi shit. It's a work and a dig at AEW. Toni Storm literally did the exact same thing and was largely glossed over. Now she's over at a company that REALLY doesn't give a shit about women's wrestling.
Sasha Banks does it and it's brought up on social media that WWE did the same thing to Steve Austin. Do you not see what WWE is trying to do? They want you to have Sasha Banks in the same conversation as Stone Cold, pushing her without having her wrestle. Naomi is going to Bloodline and this was the easiest way to heel turn and jump branding.

I always kind of liked that the last WCW match was him and Sting and then the last match of his career was against Sting. It's like poetry, they rhyme.

I'll be charitable and say if it's a multi man match where he tags in, does a few moves then gets the pin to spend the crowd home happy, it might just about work.

I mean correct, but it's such a major red flag for a load of industries that it'd likely do irreversible career damage for the majority of people. Wrestlers typically aren't good enough for most non-wrestling ventures and breaking a WWE contract will typically mean agreeing to the no-compete clause which would essentially bar them from wrestling too. Brock thought he found a way around it by wrestling in NJPW but it was incredibly messy.
Like sports stars you can absolutely decide to quit and 'retire' at any point, but you can't just walk into another team, usually the employer keeps the sporting rights for the remainder of the contract even if they're not paying them.
I can totally buy Sasha quitting and going into TV full time but I have absoutely no idea why Naomi would do it, because it's not like she's got a major fall back plan. Something feels off here but it could simply be things exploding so it doesn't seem to make any sense.

I lean toward this being legit, given how off-the-cuff Becky's remarks seemed, and she was probably pissed she had to eat the pinfall in a 1 on 1 match with Asuka because of it.

Looks like Sasha and Naomi were upset with the direction of the Women's tag team division. Understandable as it doesn't exist, and they didn't want anything to do with Asuka and Becky Lynch as they were scheduled to have a 3 on 3 match with them. Asuka teaming with them and Becky teaming up with Nicki and Doudrop. Understandable not wanting to be the third wheel in a feud even if Naomi was supposedly going to get the pin fall win.
Abadon has lost 40lbs. Can't say I see a difference in body shape but she has put on some muscle.

AEW and WWE will be presented as sports in network upfronts (Nikki's show was recently canceled because of the upfronts)
Tony has figured out that if a wrestler should get a raise if they resign. It only took MJF, one of the few major home grown heels he has talking about leaving to figure that shit out.
