Gotta get this off my chest.

At one point years and years ago, I unironically enjoyed watching Jim Sterling’s videos.

What the fuck happened boys
Josh did a stream (not a real "person stream") on Jim a while back, mostly commenting on his stream when it fell below 900k. Mostly the fall happened when Jim got involved with amateur wrestling shit, got addicted to painkillers, and some other stuff. I'm not sure what caused his mind to break, but by the time when some fat man in a wig is bleating about "literally killing trans people" it's time to put him out of his misery.

Kinda looks like he shat himself and it started seeping through here

His flag to bear used to be something anyone with a brain could get behind, namely the shitty quality standards on Steam at the time. It's just that he went from fighting against something stupid, to fighting FOR something stupid.

You either die fighting cringe, or live long enough to become the cringe yourself.

This, Stanley Parable, and other games makes me wonder why so many devs kissed this fat pig's ass so much. He's just another trash YouTube game reviewer, did the Digital Homicide debacle really in(fat)uate that many devs?
Unfortunately it seems that way of many game studios now to suck up to youtubers/streamers. I don't get why people think taking down Digital Homicide was big deal. Literal whos that no one would know about if Jim didn't need an easy ego trip. I really hate how he implies that unheard of dev studios like DH would some how bring another great video game crash when triple A companies will do that all on their own. Who ever thought "yes this shitty 1 dollar scam game from some nobody is really bad. I guess that means the newest Call of Battlefield Infinite is going to be shitty too because it's still 1983 and all games are the exact same."

What I'm imagining is going through Jim's head right now:
Other than a bullet, of course.

Believing his own hype. He betrayed himself as this bad ass game reviewer who takes down scummy game studies so hard he started to believe that's what he was in real life. A shocker to people like Jim, being a game reviewer is the complete opposite of badass and YouTube rantsona tactics don't translate in real life. People like Jim go through a downward spiral of doubleing-down every time they get any push back. Thinking that will some how convince people of something their not or of an opinion they have. Lets not forget he had some pretty tone deaf game reviews (I.E. He thought sonic 4 was good) before fighting Digital Homicide Studios and far before him trooning out.
Jim's entire career has been coasting off the Digital Homicide drama for the past few years now. Before that, he rode the coattails of better game reviewers like Yahtzee and Totalbiscuit. It's amazing how much ego one man can have when he catche the faintest whiff of success, isn't it? Thankfully, Jim's time in the spotlight's just about up. All keeping him afloat now are troon wallets.

I don't want to go off-topic, but the so-called "video game crash of 1983" is a myth and I wish people would stop bringing it up when talking about the games industry. It was made up by Nintendo fanboys in the 2000s so they could cast their favourite company as heroes who literally saved the video game industry when in reality they just aggressively monopolised it (at least in North America). It's ahistorical nonsense and only people who weren't actually around at the time believe in it.
