And it's always from a certain family too. Samoa Joe isn't like this.I'm telling you, these Samoans are more trouble than their worth.
It was booked as a six-pack challenge, so it would see the tag team breaking up each other's pinfall attempts which makes even less sense if you're not going to immediately split the team. And it's always from a certain family too. Samoa Joe isn't like this.
Looks like Sasha and Naomi were upset with the direction of the Women's tag team division. Understandable as it doesn't exist, and they didn't want anything to do with Asuka and Becky Lynch as they were scheduled to have a 3 on 3 match with them. Asuka teaming with them and Becky teaming up with Nicki and Doudrop. Understandable not wanting to be the third wheel in a feud even if Naomi was supposedly going to get the pin fall win.
It makes sense when you realise that Vince hates tag teams and prefers the break up angle. Plus the ego of the two women involved. It was booked as a six-pack challenge, so it would see the tag team breaking up each other's pinfall attempts which makes even less sense if you're not going to immediately split the team.
If they were to split the team it makes no sense having them as defending tag team champions since they JUST won the belts.
Supposedly Naomi was supposed to pin Sasha setting up a break up angle and that's what lit the fuse on the drama bomb. There's a pretty detailed twitter thread from someone connected to Naomi that fills in some of the backstage drama with a lot of the blame going towards producers being unwilling to budge. If the bit in WWE's statement about them being uncomfortable working with certain people for safety reasons is bullshit, and the rest of the talent knows it, then this could end up being a hilarious dumpster fire.It was booked as a six-pack challenge, so it would see the tag team breaking up each other's pinfall attempts which makes even less sense if you're not going to immediately split the team.

Hard to sympathize with Naomi and Sasha here. We all know what WWE is. You take the WWE money, you have to put up with the WWE bullshit.Supposedly Naomi was supposed to pin Sasha setting up a break up angle and that's what lit the fuse on the drama bomb. I agree, especially the ones that were already unhappy but sign new multi-year deals anyway like Ali. The interesting thing is that Naomi has never been one to cause public drama over WWE creative in the past. Is it outside influence (Sasha/social media) or has WWE reached a level of backstage dysfunction so untenable that even the quiet ones are acting out?Hard to sympathize with Naomi and Sasha here. just older and slower rhymingI always kind of liked that the last WCW match was him and Sting and then the last match of his career was against Sting. It's like poetry, they rhyme.
taking your ball and going home is always a cunt move no excuses only Austin ever had anything close to a good reasonLooks like Sasha and Naomi were upset with the direction of the Women's tag team division. I'm surprised at that. Sasha to me always seemed pretty good in highly rehearsed matches where there are a bunch of spots planned and they only have to work from one spot to another, but doesn't seem to be able to call anything in the ring. In the matches I've seen, whenever there was a botch or someone went off script she looked lost. I didn't think and old hand like Regal who can call entire matches in the ring would be into that kind of thing.Regal was on Renees podcast today and said that Sasha is one of only 4 people that he vouched for to Vince and HHH during his time at NXT.
Whether that's him voicing his disappointed at her walking or basically spilling the beans that she'll be in AEW in 3 months time remains to be seen i suppose.
I'm surprised they didn't pull the ol' move of just not doing the spot. "Oops, I forgot." Instead they tried to pull the old Hulk Hogan "that's doesn't work for me, brother" move, not realizing that they weren't Hulk Hogan.Whooo boy I was wrong about it being a work.
Apparently Molly Holly was the one who broke the news that the original plans were still going on, that it would lead to a breakup angle. They already announced the main event by then, and the two walked out shortly after the show rundown. Vince was at Gorilla (as usual), so he had no idea what was happening backstage between the two and producers until it was too late. The promo with Becky Lynch and Adam Pierce was completely done on the fly at Becky's request.
The feeling from the other wrestlers backstage is that Banks and Naomi walking out came out of left field and that they are taking themselves too seriously.
That's my impression of all the top American women: can have great matches if thoroughly rehearsed but can't improvise for shit. I think I've heard Ronda and Charlotte say that too: they "rehearsed a big PPV match for several weeks at the Performance Center." The Joshi women at least usually just forearm the shit out of each other until they remember their spots. And in New Japan, every match is five minutes of "fighting spirit" anyway.I'm surprised at that. Plus, Sasha is peak "looks like cosplayer striking poses" which is a big problem in WWE right now. Like, she's coming out for a promo leading up to a grudge match and it's like hang on, I gotta wear my little costume and do my little dance.
I mean, her husband drinking himself stupid every other week likely isn't helping her I imagine. Also didn't she play a part in some of the hashtags to get her noticed a few mania's back?I agree, especially the ones that were already unhappy but sign new multi-year deals anyway like Ali. I believe so, she was still upset that she lost the Women's title without getting a chance to win it back. Like the belt means anything. It's just a prop to fuel a story between one of the big four women. She'll never be part of that even if she joins Roman.I mean, her husband drinking himself stupid every other week likely isn't helping her I imagine. Oh, so it was just Sasha having another shitfit.Whooo boy I was wrong about it being a work.

You put one of my pet peeves into words. That guy had his cronies beat the shit out of me/ tipped an ambulance on top of me/ used his Satanist woo woo bullshit to make me throw up black stuff/ pulled out my eye... but I need to follow my entrance's musical cues and pose!I'm surprised at that.
