beta for 2.8 started, quick overview of it:
- islands rerun
- Dreamlike Visions event (Echoing Tales v2) w/ Fischl skin (4★)
- Diluc lore, Diluc skin (5★)
- Secret War event (dungeon battles at Dawn Winery)

he's apparently a 4*, so doesn't really compete and can most likely be gotten from the standard banner afterwards (if you're lucky). otherwise will probably get a faster rerun, so you could wait and see which banners he's gonna end up on.

He's a 4* anemo dps so he's not winning any awards but he has some nifty things

-He's a melee catalyst user so he's automatically the .
-His skill is a big charged punch with stupid scaling (+1000% by lvl 12) that gets 16% cr 32% cd on c6.
-His burst has low dmg but its 40 cost, gives 80 EM to the team via passive, restores 13 energy with c4 and pulls enemy on c2.

The pull is probably the most interesting since there is no character in the game that straight up gets crowd on constelation but it seems to be a quick projectile that drags enemies away

Tl;dr: copium anemo (sub)dps, bad cc and low utility, can probably work on any sucrose team but worse.

Be aware that the beta isnt over so it's possible they change him. I'm personallly happy he's not a dedicated xiao support, them xiao niggas gotta get over it already.

FYI for the event, if you make something meat based in the event, DON'T FEED IT TO GANYU. She'll take the food, & won't get companionship exp, all the while you lose the event meter. I'm at 14/15 & can't do anything about it.

Did the same thing with Yae, I think it’s due to her already being at Friendship 10 more than anything else - I just gave her something to see her reaction.

Thankfully the game tracks “how many dishes have you given out” separately from the Event Meter as far as the Event Rewards, but the best rewards are the primos from just making the spices anyway. The Friendship Points you get are negligible enough to not really be worth it, considering how high most characters Friendship likely is with them being locked in the Pot for over a month now.

I feel like it's just an in-lore thing about feeding the Goat a literal mutton dish. It's like feeding a chicken on a KFC diet.

Considering how much of my healing is shoving Sweet Madam’s down my characters throats, I kinda want a Chicken Based Character just off that mental image…

Considering how much separation they usually have between Lore and Gameplay, that honestly wouldn’t’ve been my first guess

She's a quilin. They don't like to harm living creatures, so their diet is vegetarian. That obviously doesn't apply to hundreds of goblins, big lizards, russians you slaughter with her apkws-ass arrows, because they are fantasy creatures and not real.

It's not simply a lore thing, Ganyu is explicitly vegetarian and her least/favourite food voice over explicitly show it.

This applies to ALL the cast btw, everyone has lines explaining their favourite foods (always personal dish) and that's an obvious tip to what you should give them. Chongyun for example hates spicy food which means he hates the dishes that use pepper on it, and if you give it to him he'll ask why would you give him that?

I know it's just a filler event but the dedication to showcasing the character tastes is impressive. Ganyu actually has the longest list of disliked dishes since she hates anything with meat on it. The second longest is razor who is the opposite and hates vegetables (but loves meat). The only food Klee hates is the crab dish because Klee fucking HATES crabs!

BTW i havent tested but allegedly you do not waste your opportunity if someone hates the dish so dont worry, no loss.

I pretty much missed the livestream and just watched the YT trailer, any interesting new features/QoL fixes besides the ability to see talent/artifact usage stats or w/e?

didn't see much else besides the domain hints, so hardly any QOL it seems. no idea what's the point of the usage stats, especially with how current progression and "building" chars works. enticing people to grind more to get the same shit as the majority (no shit everyone wants CD/CC on head etc.)? plenty of other stuff they could've added/changed when it comes to artifacts...
 
Finally finished the Inazuma Statue of 7 so I'll probably go into maintenance mode of do dailies and spend resin on gold/xp laylines until the Itto banner. (Barring events the last couple days for rewards). Pull for Goro and Kuki then wait for Kaz's rerun.

Not super interested in Yelan or Xaio so I will have the content from 2.7 and hopefully 2.8 to work through by then.
 
I've been mindlessly farming bosses and books for past 2 weeks and got everything yelan, but now it's like the hype died and i dont want her anymore... Maybe i should skip her and go for kazuha c1 that i know from experience it's insanely good. Or maybe save for sumeru that should come right after 2.8...

Btw not a lot of leak stuff happened, here is the stuff worth mentioning.

It's literally a sucrose skill pull with a secondary explosion. Free dmg but the pull is too pathetic to realistically call heizou a CC unit. He also received no buffs so he's kinda weak. He's not replacing sucrose as support but he looks fun to play and at least we finally got another 4* dps since yanfei.

>2.7 AND 2.8 BANNERS

2,7 is same as before (allegedly). This means Xiao / Yelan + (noele, barbara, yanfei). This is a pretty crappy banner but i want to get noele c6 one day so... Next is itto with kuki.

2.8 is allegedly (from mostly reliable leaker) : First half Klee + heizou (4*) + 2 and second half is Yoimiya + Kazuha. This seems to match the abyss bonuses so i believe it.

Flat damage increase is pretty unique and this is also the only reaction where the person with EM doesnt do more damage, only buffs the other side of the reaction. This might not make keqing top tier but it makes EM scalers like Kuki and Yae work better with dendro. Intensified also gives electro particles so it might be enough to have yae as solo electro lol.
