What happened? It’s so far off how I used to see Australia. Is this the Chinese buying everything up and exerting influence or is there something in the culture ?
I’m starting to get that reaction every time I read the word ‘harm’ used online. It’s like a red flag for the thought police. Such a broad definition of harm - it can be anything they want. Like here in the uk, the hate crime laws plus the malicious comms acts ensure that any offence can be prosecuted. It’s terrifying. Why aren’t people more pissed off about all this?
It's England's fault for not bothering to write down their constitution and codify it. The US is the only Anglo country to take the time, and that was because we had to fight a years long war on the subject with the King. The rest of the commonwealth have half assed it, and Canadians discovered just this year their constitution is not the Supreme Law like in America, since Justin Trudeau quite happily suspended their bullshit charter in order to Crack down on uppity peasants who did not know their place.

So while America was born with a healthy distrust of the State, the rest of the British Enpire assumed they could carry on as usual. The UK. Canada, Australia and New Zealand did not learn the lesson of the American War.

Never trust the Government to be benevolent or well intentioned.

It's true.

It's true, there's a pretty consistent pattern of Commonwealth countries controlling speech. Back in the 80s the UK banned songs from the radio and horror movies (known as "video nasties"). Now it's adapted to the internet and video games getting banned or censored.

I now understand why the Americans went to war with Britain, and they're honestly better off for it.

Oh FFS , what ever happened to the idea if people dont learn from the mistakes of the part they are bound to repeat them?
no current western government would be in power if people really did that dummy

What the hell is eSafety anyway?
You know how we had a century of speculative fiction warning us about the grim iron fist of totalitarianism? All we learned from that is instead of stormtroopers you just use the gayest possible concern trolls and brand everything with rainbow comic sans

o7 to my Aussie niggers. Also is fucking Australia and New Zealand that much strung up on KF over the Brenton Tarrant shit? I don't see why they would care so much about an American shooting.

I don't think people understand the mentality of where this is coming from.

If a left leaning person shoots up an institution it's because society has failed them and the only cure is more legislation and free shit

If a right leaning individual shoots up an institution it's because they want to burn the whole place down and hold the people in charge accountable.

The latter doesn't end with the people in charge still being in charge. That's why it's considered a threat.

Totally unironically, Australia's a test market for the US. That means when McDonalds wants to roll out electronic menus they run it for a year or two in Australia first and politics works the same way. Don't make the mistake of thinking it's an independent sovereign government; they don't even pretend they aren't completely bought and paid for by corporate interests so nothing they do has anything to do with actual governance.
This isn't hyperbole; have fun trying to find articles about anything they've done in the past couple decades that isn't corruption, completely ignoring exposed corruption and carrying on anyway, noose-tightening, five eyes stuff or outright corpshit. And over that time they've done away with any trace of national character to bring the political model in-line with American strategy to make Australians better guinea pigs.

New Zealand's a bit different because it's where all the billionaires build their doomsday bunkers (seriously) so that's more of a cultivation than perpetually torturing people on purpose.

globohomo test market
you can see this in all nato and nato-adjacent countries
America is just the prime beef, the kosher slaughter. they test their chemicals on random Germans, Aussies, and Brits and then splooge their HFCS jizz onto us when they're sure it'll work.
truly a continental time machine for what is to come for muttland

I mean yeah it flows in every direction and there's a lot of overlap but a lot of that is just contamination, the US isn't the centre of the universe. Germany and the UK are very important markets in their own rights and in a lot of ways the US is a fortress and laboratory for old world interests as well. Australia's pretty special though because it's a physical and cultural island in the middle of nowhere with a tiny population (conveniently spread out into test buckets) so there's no risk of fallout, and you'll see it talked about specifically in marketing textbooks for these reasons.

It was also founded as a literal back-up colony for the US so it's an even more ideal model for culture/law/politics in some ways.

I had a look at the manifesto (obviously I didn't read every word) but he spends a lot of time talking about every bit of equipment he used, the best quality equipment, where to get it, what to avoid (items made of "Chinesium" like Amazon & AliExpress)...basically it could be used as a manual for any future shooters to plan their shooting. Plus the livestream video serves as inspiration for future shooters. He says in the manifesto that his biggest influence is the dude who did the Christchurch shootings. (He also says "here's me" on one page and posts the Sam Hyde gun meme pics lmao.)

This is literally the only reason I'm still in the states as opposed to any other English speaking country.
There's this funny dichotomy with living anywhere on the planet: either you live anywhere besides America and don't have your fundamental human rights to things like "speech without prosecution from the government" codified in a way where it is virtually impossible for the government to even come within spitting distance of regulating it, or you suffer the consequences of living in America.
It's a hard trade but I'll take this shithole over any other as long as I can continue to make funny jokes without being fined or arrested.

Makes sense considering our foreign policy is basically ctrl c and ctrl v whatever the retards in Washington are up to. I think so many tele services and the majority of the tech sector have been infested by imported or outsourced poojeets.

Though dont worry people who despise us millionaires will be sucessful at turning our shithole ialand into a giant uninhabitable desert infested with camels and some mad max style petrol sniffers cruising around

Apparently there's a Chinese spy ship just cruising up and down the coast of Western Australia and nobody is doing shit about it. This is the caliber of authority we're dealing with.
Take this shit with a grain of salt because China's a big scapegoat/distraction for the cunts in charge more than anything. Like that ship isn't in territorial waters; so why's it being reported this way?

Meanwhile btw that's all an offshore oilfield which on the dee el are fuel pumps for american fleets so I'd be surprised if they aren't poking around there all the time
