Vox Machina is okay if you can ignore the wanton quipping every two lines and the often unnecessary swearing, nudity and violence just to say "we are totes a show for adults". It is also surprisingly devoid of significant virtue signaling, considering who is behind it.

Didn't watch Dragon Prince, so I can't opine on it.

Velma Dinkley is getting her own show... and from the looks of things, it's going to be gruesome.

Velma star and executive producer Mindy Kaling shared the first image from the upcoming adult animated series at the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront presentation Wednesday. As anyone who's watched Scooby-Doo cartoons before knows, Velma was often the brains of the operation, and so she'll be at the forefront of mystery-solving in her new solo series. The crimes she's investigating may not be kid-friendly, though; the image featured Velma coming upon a young woman who had the top of her head sliced off somehow.

The image also makes clear that Velma will be of South Asian heritage in the new series.

"Hopefully you noticed my Velma is South Asian," Kaling told the crowd. "If people freak out about that, I don't care."

HBO Max announced the development of Velma last year, describing it as "an original and humorous spin that unmasks the complex and colorful past of one of America's most beloved mystery solvers.

I took one glance at the image and have already given up. It will be shit, just from that image it looks to be going for the Rick & Morty style like most adult animated shows, so it will probably devolve into crass humor with little substance and the animation will be as cheap as possible. I bet it lasts a season, maybe 2 if lucky as they can probably get The Office normies to watch it for 10 mins based on them liking Mindy.

Little fun fact: Mindy's brother pretended to be black to get into med school. Being a racebaiting grifter seems to run in the family.

There's two ways for one to know Kaling is full of shit with her "I don't care" proclamation. One is knowing pedoowood made it mandatory to reach a race, sex and sexuality quota met or else your project will never get fueled by jewbux. The second is what she says before:

Imagine that I gave your favorite childhood toy to some random stranger with the vague promise that she's gonna do something "very interesting" with it. You're probably gonna feel pretty nervous about that, but then imagine how you'd feel if she totally fucked it up. That's what Mindy and Pedowood at large are doing: they're all fucking up our favorite childhood toys, and demanding that we like them just the same. And then they're shocked when the actual fans say, "no, I wanted you to make improvements to my toy, not shove it up your dog's ass, burn it, and then flush the ashes down the toilet", and leave to watch something else.
