It's pretty interesting really. Also in Those cultures the people tend to have a fast turn around and are able to still function in society. Of course this will be perverted by trans as other way to show how valid they are.

It's also one of the reasons I'm real doubtful when they talk about therapist diagnosing as if it's a solid science, if a condition such as schizophrenia is still unknown then what chance do they have with something so new and varied such a gender expression.

The idea they have that a kid goes to a therapist and they are able to diagnose being trans with such certainty when it's relatively new area of research.

In madness explained the psychiatrist who wrote it explains how diagnosing is fraught with difficulty if schizophrenia still poses a problem we are to believe that diagnosing this new cohort of teenage girls wanting to be male is something they can to reliably is such anti science.

Hearing voices has been around for a long time. If you're able to hold down a full time job, maintain housing, and a social network you don't really have an illness. The people they reach out to typically aren't the same group who experience an inability to function in society.

I'm pretty unsympathetic to the trans suicide statistic because of schizophrenia. A staggering number of young men with severe psychotic disorders kill themselves b/c of the social dysfunction, but they aren't the current darling of the social sciences so who gives a fuck.

edit: made a type - social services does what they can, but there haven't been any truly new treatments since thorazine.
