No one's speculating anything. He did cross a line several times. It was only due to the family paid lawyer tard wrangling him that he NARROWLY avoided jail time and even then you could see the seethe coming off of him during court.

This ties to something that has bugged me a few times, regarding the whole Erica misunderstanding (). Why isn't there a mugshot of Russ or an arrest, was it not a criminal charge? Did it maybe start civil and end up criminal? Didn't know you could end up with a criminal conviction without ever being arrested.

I was more referencing to his actual crimes like the stalking and harassment shit and not fictitious things to be fair.

EDIT: To the guy above me american police are usually very fucking lazy when it comes to stalking and harassment even when you have solid proof. The prevailing philosophy is usually 'he has to actually do something for us to do something' but usually by then it's too late and the victim is potentially fucking dead. Usually the only way to get preemptive action is if you're rich/famous or know the right people on the force; otherwise you're on your own for the most part unless you find a particularly sympathetic officer who can do something.

Erika gathered up all of her evidence of Pipsqueak's harassment and lawyered up however, making for a civil case to push for legal action. In alternate reality land if Russ didn't have a lawyer who knew what he was doing he most definitely would have been convicted, arrested, and have a criminal record complete with a slurpshot. As it stands in exchange for NOT having a criminal record they reached an agreement to avoid that fate provided he never contact her again, so the pipsqueak reluctantly slurped back to the sewers, tail between his legs.

It was not a civil case. It was a criminal prosecution. He does have a criminal record. He was charged with and plead guilty to two counts of electronic harassment. It's a low level misdemeanor so they probably just sent him a summons and told him if he didn't show up, they would arrest him. He had six month jail sentence suspended provided he completed 18 months of probation without incident. It ended in March.

Not to derail too much but police avoid 'harassment' charges only IN PART because of laziness (in that anything involving online activities is difficult and manpower intensive to investigate for a small department). It's also the type of crime that often requires judicial or prosecutorial buy-in rather than the police just deciding to charge someone.

The larger part is that almost everyone who complains about 'harassment' or 'stalking' is using those terms as colloquialisms rather than their legal meaning- charges which require specific elements of a criminal statute to be fulfilled. Cows complain about being 'stalked' on kiwifarms all the time even though people are just making fun of them. Pat Tomilson is a good example as he constantly complains of being 'stalked' as he also consistently engages with the 'stalkers'- going so far as to try and get a protective order against one of them (it was tossed out).

Often the best first steps in an actual legal harassment situation is to obtain a peace or protective order which prohibits contact. Someone who is found violating a peace order can often be arrested on the spot and the elements are a lot easier to prove ("did you do what this order, written by a judge, told you not to do? You did? You're fucked). Sucks that a victim of an actual crime has to go through more effort but the Erikas of the world sometimes have to do more because of the Pat Tomilsons.

I guarantee you that those strippers were FAR more creeped out by Shit-Lips than they were by the old guys watching them dance. Also, he apparently doesn't understand having a position open. The stripper might have asked if they had any waitressing positions open and was told they only had dancing jobs at the moment.
