While the above is certainly true, recently I've been wondering if his very obvious apology fetish all stems from the crying apology he had to give someone else to stop him getting his ass kicked.
I'm thinking that cut him deep at the time, since then he's clearly lost all semblance of pride and has zero shame in debasing himself.

Haven't seen a lot of people mention the part of this story that was the most suspect to me, and that I'd love to get confirmation of, which was him saying that his response before he cried was to put his hands behind his back, stand there, and say, 'Okay, well I'm not gonna fight, so if you need to hit me to feel better, go ahead'. If phil actually looked for advice from detractors he would have had a green screen and real webcam set up years ago. If anything telling phil to do something, even if its good for him, is probably the best way to make him not do it.
