The MLP thing was such a load of shit. I saw a few minutes of an episode while minding young family members, and it is 100% a show made for kids. There was no hidden meaning, or adult themes, or any of that coping bullshit. It was just annoyingly voiced characters doing shit to appeal to their kid audience.
I'm 100% not surprised that Kev was into it, and I am 100% not surprised that he grooms children online too.

There has been alot of speculation to that. My theory is that it was a sort of right place at the right time thing. Combine that with a popular big name behind the project who genuinely believed in the show and with an actual budget backing her passion project and you'll definitely get results. Unfortunately for society the result is generations of overgrown manchildren latching on to a child's cartoon show and bullying actual children at the toy line for merchandise as well as stalking and harassing the voice actresses along with rampant pedophilia and other assorted gruesome and disgusting things.
Lauren was also run through a wringer. She genuinely loved the show and put her whole heart into it, but what she forgot was that at its core this latest revival wasn't about sending a positive message/show to girls, it was all about the money to be had. This came to a head around the time they wanted those spinoff shows for more money and she didn't want to be a part of that so she left. No one predicted the massive autistic legacy that stemmed from it though, but if Lauren saw what would have come of it all and she had a time machine she'd probably stop her past self and take a literal axe to what she once loved.
Sorry for the derail. Just wanted to speculate, however baseless it may be.

Respectfully, I'm not sure you've got the correct timeline here, or rather, I don't think we have clear evidence that Kevvy was doing pederast things with a minor StebMcDreb.
Kevkev was noting that MLP:FIM (that felt gross to type, like a fetish abbreviation) came out in 2010 and he was early 20s while many of his friends (by which I believe he means current friends) were much younger when it came out. So it's not that he and Stebby we're necessarily a thing back then - although, yeah it's not ruled out - it's that he's the old one in his group of friends. That can be said about any semi secret club that holds beliefs against the mainstream.
A lot of Nazi/Fascist/white power movements were led by guys who groomed and exploited disenfranchised angry young men.

Also equally valid points, the landscape of animation in 2010 was just starting to recover from the dead zone that was the late 2000s and it felt like creator driven shows were going to be paramount again... Something not scene since the golden age of Nickelodeon and cartoon network.
Can we all just agree that the show was perfectly servicable as the marketing ploy to kids Hasbro wanted but also a one woman's life long dream realized with some of her old colleges from the old days? (at first) and as time went on it inevitability became the hive of pesos, autists cartoon spergs, and deviants like Kevin using it to get what they want and now that's all it ever will be remembered as?
