Oh, you better believe it was intentional here as well. I cannot think of any other reason to execute a visual gag that focuses on showing that cursed image of mutant mouse/fly offspring other than to make the fans of the original show feel disturbed. In the original show there was an established running gag of both Chip and Dale falling head over heels for Gadget, there were moments were the characters would flirt, it was funny and cute but most of all it hinted at future plot possibilities. Something fans would have been delighted to see a follow through.
But the movie decide that all of this was void, these were "actors" playing a role, None of those feelings were real so Chip and Dale end up as loners, whatever feeling were portrayed on the "show" was acting. ....
That's cool movie, explain then why Monterrey Jack's addiction to cheese is a key plot point and not just "acting" as he did in the show.
Now you see what I mean: the writers for this movie are hateful hacks whose motivation to pick and choose what to portray was to ruin the narrative of these characters and the characters themselves therefore ruining it for the legacy fans.
God, the more I analyze it, the more I hate this fucking movie.

I also missed that the Sugar Rush police from Wreck It Ralph were present for the crime scene. I knew they were from somewhere, but I couldn’t put my finger on it while watching. Will update.

When I saw them I legit thought they where from sausage party and that didn't leave my mind either. Why wasn't the hot dog present during the Seth rogan who boost? Why not? They had a Cameo from big mouth, I think we're way past the lines of good taste.

Yeah I relaize how fucked up that is too. I am very aware of the tragedy of Boobby Driscoll. So watching Pan now be a bitter wash up was fucked up for me knowing what happen to the real actor. I mean seriously not only that but just like the actor voicing pan. Pan is thrown out of Hollywood because he aged. Seriously what the hell.
The media references were overloaded and I felt like I h ad just gotten some weird drug after watching the movie.

If it is I'm legit surprised anyone in Tinseltown even remembers who Martian mystery is. It's been said before but they had a perfectly good opportunity to make sonichu a real thing, and they blew it. I could almost forgive everything this shit show did if only just to see a sonic with pikachus colors and parts grafted on while opl is locked up.

They were. I distinctly remember it being brought up several times in the show because my sister adored it when we were kids and wouldn't miss a single episode.
As for Gadget being FLY'D, Zipper was basically the team's pet and I don't think he ever actually spoke in the show. Aside from the fly and mouse sex being just plain creepy, it's basically like if Daphne fucked Scooby-Doo.
And of course the voice actor for Zipper is a black guy, which is just hilarious.

As someone who did grow up with rescue rangers and the Disney afternoon this movie was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. The animated characters worked so well together that everytime there was a real person on scene I wanted them to just go away lol. Read enjoyed the film.
