I'm honestly shocked Skullgirls is still alive and getting updated with new characters. Granted, it's probably been over five years or so since I last played it, and by that point, it had been a pretty long while since it was last updated. Not to mention the amount of people who played it consistently was really small. I figured even before the whole "I can't breathe" quip Mike Z made the game was pretty much dead.

I think I played it for a night when it came out and more or less forgot about it until the drama began. Nice animation and music I guess, though iirc half the cast were just "OC do not steal" of established characters from other games (positive there was a Millia Rage and Lady Zato-1 like characters).
Does suck for the creator, and smaller western devs in general, you can't just get a team of passionate autists who only care about their craft but now have to deal with power tripping political zombies like the Skullgirls crew had to. I've been hanging out at Shmuplations lately, enjoying reading Japanese sperges live and breath nothing but their work on SHMUPs and fighting game without retarded politics which is so refreashing.

The most intriguing one of the lot.East Coast Throwdown (ECT) was previously run and managed by a SweetJohnnyCage several years ago, alongside fellow Long Island resident LIJoe. Over the past few years, after a hiatus from running the event, the ownership changed looking roughly back to 2016, to a little known company called RVRSL. RVRSL, as anyone in the FGC knows, is an institution... specifically an LLC that ran a series of Redbull Battlegrounds events for several games in the 2017 year according to their own webpage, and several iterations of ECT since then. I have never heard the name before checking today who exactly was running ECT.
Now, lets look at the RVRSL webpage and see if we can... oh it's empty. Oh wait, no it isn't; it's full of SEO garbage filler. Let's try a basic, incorrect sitemap URL so we can find the search bar for some reason. Now, time to find the about section so we can see who is running this site, and get some more garbage SEO results. Apparently I'm looking at Studio 8's webpage now, not RVRSL's. I guess Ronnie Marshall is a real person, maybe, who is a "pitchfork food truck tofu jean shorts homo," and also an "organic photo booth scenester" with an interest in Thundercats and Four Loko.

This is what was posted, translated, to kappa. As far as I can find, there has never been an official release or leak of the actual audio file. Simply this slipshod translated transcript. What you can see here is suspicious: they start with page 2, immediately go to page 16, have several pages with no page numbers because the bottom has been clipped off (which also implies a lot of these pages have their tops clipped off, too), and ends up on page 15. According to Panda Global, this is in fact a real transcript, but situated out of order and highly truncated. According to all sources, this, alongside initial claims against Infil, were posted in 2018 and after the appeals case for the property dispute lawsuit over the $100,000 USD property down payment settlement for the divorce began and several weeks after Infil's ex-wife submitted the transcription and injury diagnoses to the court. It also seems that this mid-September timeframe is when Panda Global initially received these documents from anonymous sources that are primarily sourced to the ex-wife.
The original claims appear to be that Infiltration nearly beat his wife to death. I remember the posts on Kappa being earlier than September 2018, but I can't find anything from before then. I cannot find, aside from u/criminal-seonwoo-lee claims, claims about Infil trying to beat his ex to death. I also cannot source any claims that Infiltration was threatening to sue people discussing his case, outside of mentions that his lawyer was contacting his ex-wife's lawyer and informing her that further public statements would be considered defamation under Korean law and they would sue her if she continued, all around September 2018. It's highly likely that there's deleted posts, seeing as how there's some deleted accounts responding to the threads.
Is it possible? I guess, but there isn't a good body of evidence on the English-speaking side of the internet. Were there dedicated accounts set up to push this misinformation? Sure, but they don't seem to be set up explicitly by Korean trolls in any manner that I've found thus far. Is it possible everyone was just against him? I think it's obvious that there were people on Kappa aligned against him, as users, who then crowdsourced their knowledge to contribute, and that some other users were attempting to present information in an organized manner to best hurt Infil, but that there isn't good evidence to say it was all from 1 party.
Overall, it seems like the Korean troll haydurs probably aren't real. It is possible that a single guy, criminal-seonwoo-lee, is responsible for a lot of info from Korea during the Sept 2018 time period, but that information is also incredibly shaky and packed with lies.

This is what was posted, translated, to kappa. As far as I can find, there has never been an official release or leak of the actual audio file. Simply this slipshod translated transcript. What you can see here is suspicious: they start with page 2, immediately go to page 16, have several pages with no page numbers because the bottom has been clipped off (which also implies a lot of these pages have their tops clipped off, too), and ends up on page 15. According to Panda Global, this is in fact a real transcript, but situated out of order and highly truncated. According to all sources, this, alongside initial claims against Infil, were posted in 2018 and after the appeals case for the property dispute lawsuit over the $100,000 USD property down payment settlement for the divorce began and several weeks after Infil's ex-wife submitted the transcription and injury diagnoses to the court. It also seems that this mid-September timeframe is when Panda Global initially received these documents from anonymous sources that are primarily sourced to the ex-wife.
The original claims appear to be that Infiltration nearly beat his wife to death. I remember the posts on Kappa being earlier than September 2018, but I can't find anything from before then. I cannot find, aside from u/criminal-seonwoo-lee claims, claims about Infil trying to beat his ex to death. I also cannot source any claims that Infiltration was threatening to sue people discussing his case, outside of mentions that his lawyer was contacting his ex-wife's lawyer and informing her that further public statements would be considered defamation under Korean law and they would sue her if she continued, all around September 2018. It's highly likely that there's deleted posts, seeing as how there's some deleted accounts responding to the threads.
Is it possible? I guess, but there isn't a good body of evidence on the English-speaking side of the internet. Were there dedicated accounts set up to push this misinformation? Sure, but they don't seem to be set up explicitly by Korean trolls in any manner that I've found thus far. Is it possible everyone was just against him? I think it's obvious that there were people on Kappa aligned against him, as users, who then crowdsourced their knowledge to contribute, and that some other users were attempting to present information in an organized manner to best hurt Infil, but that there isn't good evidence to say it was all from 1 party.
Overall, it seems like the Korean troll haydurs probably aren't real. It is possible that a single guy, criminal-seonwoo-lee, is responsible for a lot of info from Korea during the Sept 2018 time period, but that information is also incredibly shaky and packed with lies.

I haven't watched the VODs but it isn't totally clear to me why they decided to ban him. Am I missing context in the post? Rate me dumb if so. I haven't really been in the FGC for several months now so there may be some other drama I'm unaware of but the way your post is framed makes this seem completely out of the blue and without cause.

Dude, it's no worries. I honestly wasn't sure how legible that post was overall, since it's a gigantic wall of text and bias mixed with fact. If there's any advice on how to clean up or format a post more easily, I'd appreciate it. Also, I just made it way longer.
With regards to this event (May 2022 EVO/ComboBreaker banning) It is mentioned I believe in the TwitLonger statement that EVO/ComboBreaker/TheHadou did not initially state any explicit reason but simply passed along a generic link to their vague and all-encompassing Code of Conduct, and only to EVO's CoC.
The main contention point with this has been the lack of transparency:
1. What EXACT passage from the EVO's CoC is Infiltration in violation of?
2. If it is the assumed passage ("Don't'), what was the infracting incident that lead to this decision?
3. For the other organizers (Jebailey, Ten/o, RVRSL) what lead to his banning from their events, the private EVO decision or a discernable Infiltration violation of their own CoC/policies and their own unique decision with regard to those policies? If so, what event violated what passage/clause?

Claims that organized hater trolls from the Korean FGC set him up working with his ex-wife during a property dispute settlement appeals proceeding to screw him over professionally. Had to sell his prize car, that he won from a tournament, to pay for his ex-wife's shopaholic tendencies. Had all of his other awards destroyed or sold by his ex-wife after separating. Had all of his accolades revoked by people who believe all women and would stab him in the throat for an early review copy of Street Fighter 6.

Over the past few years, after a hiatus from running the event, the ownership changed looking roughly back to 2016, to a little known company called RVRSL. RVRSL, as anyone in the FGC knows, is an institution... specifically an LLC that ran a series of Redbull Battlegrounds events for several games in the 2017 year according to their own webpage, and several iterations of ECT since then. I have never heard the name before checking today who exactly was running ECT.
Now, lets look at the RVRSL webpage and see if we can... oh it's empty. Oh wait, no it isn't; it's full of SEO garbage filler. Let's try a basic, incorrect sitemap URL so we can find the search bar for some reason. Now, time to find the about section so we can see who is running this site, and get some more garbage SEO results. Apparently I'm looking at Studio 8's webpage now, not RVRSL's. I guess Ronnie Marshall is a real person, maybe, who is a "pitchfork food truck tofu jean shorts homo," and also an "organic photo booth scenester" with an interest in Thundercats and Four Loko.

This is what was posted, translated, to kappa. As far as I can find, there has never been an official release or leak of the actual audio file. Simply this slipshod translated transcript. What you can see here is suspicious: they start with page 2, immediately go to page 16, have several pages with no page numbers because the bottom has been clipped off (which also implies a lot of these pages have their tops clipped off, too), and ends up on page 15. According to Panda Global, this is in fact a real transcript, but situated out of order and highly truncated. According to all sources, this, alongside initial claims against Infil, were posted in 2018 and after the appeals case for the property dispute lawsuit over the $100,000 USD property down payment settlement for the divorce began and several weeks after Infil's ex-wife submitted the transcription and injury diagnoses to the court. It also seems that this mid-September timeframe is when Panda Global initially received these documents from anonymous sources that are primarily sourced to the ex-wife.
The original claims appear to be that Infiltration nearly beat his wife to death. I remember the posts on Kappa being earlier than September 2018, but I can't find anything from before then. I cannot find, aside from u/criminal-seonwoo-lee claims, claims about Infil trying to beat his ex to death. I also cannot source any claims that Infiltration was threatening to sue people discussing his case, outside of mentions that his lawyer was contacting his ex-wife's lawyer and informing her that further public statements would be considered defamation under Korean law and they would sue her if she continued, all around September 2018. It's highly likely that there's deleted posts, seeing as how there's some deleted accounts responding to the threads.
Is it possible? I guess, but there isn't a good body of evidence on the English-speaking side of the internet. Were there dedicated accounts set up to push this misinformation? Sure, but they don't seem to be set up explicitly by Korean trolls in any manner that I've found thus far. Is it possible everyone was just against him? I think it's obvious that there were people on Kappa aligned against him, as users, who then crowdsourced their knowledge to contribute, and that some other users were attempting to present information in an organized manner to best hurt Infil, but that there isn't good evidence to say it was all from 1 party.

They need to expand their audience to sell games. FIghting games, IMO, are niche because of their complexity with depth over accessibility. Not everybody is a pro at fighting games. But they still need money.

If its for saying nigga then they have to ban basically everyone, if its for rigging brackets then most of J Wong's crew is banned, if its for the domestic abuse stuff then a bunch of the old FGC members would also get banned. ^This. The CoC is the death nail in the coffin of the FGC. It basically gives any power-hungry asshole carte blanche to swing the ban-hammer at anyone they want and will point to the CoC as the reason why even though some (if not most) of the wording is vague.
Any fighting game environment that has a CoC similar to this or follows this exact one to a "T", you should be very cautious and careful unless you know the environment is chill. This includes things like FightCade.

Seeing all this happen first hand for the past weeks really showing the modern day FGC woes being controlled by generic esports grifters and moral crusaders.
The Whip mod is too much but sure I should have to dig thru 50 extra trans flag colors, badly ported meme skins, and the large amount of half ass nude mods. Gamebanana shouldn't have bended a knee to those deranged trannies that's been making low effort mods that plague the site.
Originally the majority were treating the fgcoc like a joke that'll end up fading away but they played the long game and waited for any reason to enforce it. Infiltration was just the perfect piece cause they already hated him and he's the hottest topic to get the ball rolling again.
From what I've seen and experienced FGC now is just the rest of the high school autisic weirdos who got a power complex and self hating niggas who'd gladly suck tranny cock to be accepted. It was bound to happen as some of the better players you wouldn't hear of anymore went on about their lives.
