I'm a younger dude so most of these old Zelda games were before my time, but I have to think that the biggest appeal to a modern viewing audience would be the nostalgia, right? Like I would only play Pokemon Emerald on my Gameboy to reminisce. Don't get me wrong, there are retro games that are fun to watch, but Zelda doesn't really look like one of them tbh. Like how much of his audience does he expect to be interested in these 80s/90s titles? They're all in their 20s and 30s.
Nostalgia is a weird thing, and I doubt any of Phil's audience is having legitimate nostalgia; because I played LTTP at age 9 or 10 and it's making me want to fucking strangle him, and I know he's using guides and shit because he's only at the Eastern Palance (first dungeon) and has damn near 800 rupees and five hearts. Normal Phil isn't that resourceful to explore and shit, he's getting help, and probably has notes written down he can look at. The other problem with watching Phil is that he doesn't have the personality to carry games; so if something isn't interesting to you, Phil is definitely the wrong person to watch. Anyone genuinely interested in Phil playing these is under the pignosis.

Nothing Phil has said or done that indicated that this game is close to his heart at all. This nigga has said FUCK NINTENDO many times and he wants to bust this game out on a whim and become a huge imposter about it. He's just doing some weird nerd flex about it knowing random irrelevant shit.
