If true - and I could believe it is - then nothing whatsoever will be delivered to any stores. No diesel, no trucks, no deliveries. I can't wait to return to medieval times.
Gee, I can't wait to see all da doofy May Mays on Facebook people are gonna post along with all da sob stories on da newz.

Instead of...oh, IDK...DOING FUCKING SOMETHING.

They will also become old enough to use the wire from the pianos these sickos will inevitably have “for that classic feel” to strangle them in their sleep in minecraft.

Stomach acid has the ability to generate enough energy to give something that is meant to be short lived the power to put out a brief low-frequency pulse the human body can’t absorb.

Remember that any acid can be used to generate some amount of electricity, and that we have used low-frequency radio to communicate with submarines halfway across the world.
Re: tagged pills
Think it was a couple years ago I read an article on the design of these things. Stomach acid+ zinc (I think?) made a workable battery. Attach an rfid tag to that and you've got a dirt-cheap short range transmitter for a few minutes. Good enough for a purpose-made widget in your pocket to pick up and relay to your phone or whatever. Could transmit med type or unique serial numbers. Good if grandma keeps forgetting her BP meds and needs a reminder when that happens. Less wholesome uses are left to your imagination. Can probably fake it by dropping the pill in a little bottle of soda/seltzer water in your pocket to run the battery and produce a false-positive "Took the pill" signal.

Welp...

This is going to be fun.

Kiwi's, it's been a please.

It's about to get seriously worse once the Biden Administration realizes that they spent so much time LARPing their first year, with useless faggots like that fingernail polish intern, that now they've hit the tipping point.

With Biden shutting down the refineries and the oil rigs, and now there's going to be severe shortages, there's only ugly choices for the state governors.

People will be getting desperate, and desperate people do stupid shit.

And the DNC and the Progressives were already getting desperate.

Can you imagine when it finally sinks in that they just don't have fuel?

Next step by the Biden Administration: Telling the truckers to go to military bases to fuel up on diesel, because the military is magic to these retards.

Is it only the East Coast that's being affected, though? Or is it all over the US? All of the warnings have been for the former.
The thing about shortages in a capitalist system is enterprising individuals will acquire excess where it exists, and move it to where its needed. The problems occur when there's no longer excess in one place, but another area is still so short its profitable to make the problem in one worse to help the other. On the face of it this is good, but what it also means is that any prolonged supply issue in an area will become a supply issue everywhere given enough time. Even if the west coast is importing enough fuel on paper, in practice this would be moving a lot of last leg fuel trucks out to the other coast to move that gas around, so now you've got less to work with.

Of course, this is all alleviated when a rational administration engages in appropriate actions to fix the issue instead of grandstanding. Personally, I recommend double checking and rotating your pantries guys, because when fuel runs scarce, food runs scarce, simple as.

there's only ugly choices for the state governors.
And fifty chances for any one state to fix it properly and then something happens. Because if one state can do it, why can't they all? And if the federals step in to stop the working solution from working... what does that tell us?

But I'm doubtful it's really that bad right now. They want to postpone a crisis of that magnitude. On the other hand, there's their general ineptitude. Either way I'll make each trip to the grocery store assuming it's my last.

Still I think back to when all those states filed with the Supreme Court and SCOTUS said "no standing". What if the states decided "fuck it they're not helping us, let's form an interstate compact". Not secession, not a new nation, merely an agreement to ignore the feds so they can get shit done. But the other side will treat it exactly like secession and double down until we get it for real. Pretty cool!

I can't wait for Biden to go to Venezuela, and beg the Churro, on his knees, for fuel. And I don't remember if Venezuela still even has the capability to refine oil at this point. They also already started easing off some of the sanctions there.

They've already shown their hand - I'm pretty sure the plan is "hope it doesn't all fall apart before midterms". Its too late to restart domestic production, even if any of the oil related cancellations were uncancelled tomorrow with blank checks and legal "We guarantee your operations for 50 years" level assurances from the government, production would not be able to ramp up in time to fix shit before the midterms, so all it'd do is tank their environmentalist voters and give the republicans a win from "look, their policies failed and they're backpedaling." Same goes for foreign imports, Europes gonna be fighting too hard for energy supply too, and OPEC has decided this ain't their problem to solve. Even if the Ukraine war stopped tomorrow, the Admin can't start importing Russian Oil, public sentiment is very much "Evil Empire" among their voting base now.

The only option the Administration really has at this point to limit the actual damage of the fuel crisis is rationing programs - they don't need to start right now, but they at least need to start moving to put the infrastructure in place at the state levels, if not federally. But this would be a suicide pill for the admin, guaranteeing a blowout in the midterms.

They get to choose between lying between their teeth and hoping the facade holds long enough to keep power, or guarantee a disaster of an election but reduce the damage to the American people. And despite the fact they have like six other guaranteed disasters lining up for this season, they're still going for "lie and hope".

What are the chances that all of this is being intentionally done, to make it so that if a Republican president gets into power, the damage would be too much for them to fix? It reminds of how Hugo Chavez bit the dust from cancer in 2013, only for his successor Nicolas Maduro inherited a Venezuela that would go to complete shit.

And would this whole mess up reach Sri Lanka levels of bad, where the US starts defaulting on loan payments altogether?

Unlikely. You don't burn the ship down while also fighting desperately to keep control. Sabotage comes after you lost, not when you think you're winning. And it seems pretty clear that the Democrats genuinely believe they can keep forcing victories against all odds by sheer force of will. They're behaving like novice Grand Strategy gamers, thinking they can just ignore the "unrest" and "economy" sliders in favor of some other win condition as long as they avoid certain breakpoints.
And would this whole mess up reach Sri Lanka levels of bad, where the US starts defaulting on loan payments altogether?
No, the US would sooner print trillions more dollars than genuinely default on its debt. Such a fate could possibly lie at the end of a major depression, which is possible at this point but I couldn't say how likely. If the US economically starts to collapse, the whole worlds coming down with it for a while, and events like that have a tendency to force everyone to come together for some mutual loan forgiveness to clear the shit outta their economic pipes and try again.

What I don't understand now is why now? How did diesel supply remain stable during the entire COVID idiocy, and only start choking when the mandates eased off? Is it really because of the ban on Russian oil? I thought the US wasn't importing any.
Short version: Biden's administration did fucking stupid move after fucking stupid move that absolutely crippled supply, backed policies that absolutely fucked further development, and effectively dropped domestic production dramatically while also slowing down how it gets there. Killing Keystone didn't eliminate the need for the fuel it was going to provide; it now has to get there via boat and train and other, slower, less safe, more polluting means. This was backed by massively increasing regulation, effectively curtailing production entirely in many regions, and so on.

The reason we floated for a bit was that while Biden killed Keystone, he didn't fuck everything else up yet. Over 2021, he absolutely got on that shit.

The end result is that we went from a surplus to a massive shortage and we're now at the point where the production rate is completely unable to meet demand.

Ah, so Keystone wasn't only Biden's attempt at fucking up the oil supply in the country? Interesting. His admin has been quite the busy bee in the background then.

They don't. Their crude oil requires a certain type of refinery process that funnily enough is largely an American expertise. The operators and maintainers within Venezuela have long since fled or got other jobs and the existing infrastructure is rotten. In order to fix it, the Venezuelans would need to work with American facilitators. Which isn't happening.

1. It'll solve illegal immigration. Juan, Carlos, and Jesus ain't going to sacrifice their lives for woke politics; Latino just wants to get paid. Cartel members, likewise, only care about the drug trade, so the territory they defend is neutral to a state.
2. The West Coast via China can be supplied in a similar way to the US supplying Ukraine for the same kind of reason; messing with a rival in a proxy war will keep the US off-balance. I guess the East Coast can be supplied by Canada, but they have the same kind of Eco-Green government the Left has, so I doubt they'll do as well as the West.
3. Glowniggers only think they're tough because they kill women and children. As we see in the Ukraine War, former Special Ops aren't much better than cannon fodder and having to train up Generation Nintendo into real soldiers is going to have severely demoralized armies.
4. Total War on Red States creates famine on this side of the Western side of the world. At this point, I would believe it if the Feds decided to bomb Red States into oblivion. However, much like how Russia has resorted to artillery strikes to maintain their limited troop numbers, the Feds' air power would also have limited effectiveness at breaking Red States' resolve.

Seems like a delayed effect of shutting down the Keystone pipeline. Oil companies became more hesitant to build refineries. There was enough to go around for those few years, but since the strategic oil supply has been tapped with no idea how to refill it, the psychology of scarcity kicked in. Also, @Jaimas ninja'd me. Eh, I'll leave up my answer anyways.

COVID was a mirage. A shell game to make you think the world was falling apart and if only you voted the correct way, maybe we could fix things. The mainstream media removed the 24/7 death counters from their broadcasts as soon as Joe Biden won his election with a rigged public discourse.
