I don't know if I'd call that comment gatekeeping. He makes a valid point, at least insofar as the trailer doesn't deserve praise for that song being included. It's the obvious choice to play off people's nostalgia. That said, I don't blame people for feeling something when they hear it. It's a great piece of music.

This is what brought me back to this thread again. Saw the video pop up in my recommended and figured I'd give it a shot. I made it about 14 minutes in, which is when he starts bringing up the Loki shit. I'm sure everything I'm gonna say here has already been said, but I want to complain about it anyway. First off, the obvious: No one cares. No one clicked on the video for Loki shit. Second: It's not relevant. People can say it effects the overall MCU as much as they want, but that's only true for future films. The idea that this one stupid show retroactively changes any of the past films is retarded. You can just ignore it. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a defense of Loki. I hated it too. But all of the retarded Kang shit doesn't make me enjoy any of the past capeshit less, and I don't buy that even the EFAP spergs are that effected by it. Third: Fringy's sense of humor is fucking trash. The whole EFAP crew is pretty damn unfunny, but Fringy is like a damn child. Everything about him. His artistic ability is about the same quality as a ten year old, just like his humor, and just like his understanding of film.

It's only relevant in your head. Take your meds.
Something I think that separates consumers from customers is the refusal to stop being a fan of something. I think a few of us were, at one point, a fan of the MCU. Maybe ya got tired of the films having limited directorial freedoms. Maybe a particularly bad one turned you off of them as a whole. Maybe you just think they dropped in quality at any given point. But there's this weird idea that "you need to hold onto your fandom" that I see not expressed but certainly practiced.

For example, I used to be a fan of Star Wars before the Last Jedi. I was never this mega-fan, but I always wanted to keep up with any movies, shows, or games. Now I don't really care what they do, so I'm no longer a fan. Simple as that. But I guess FOMO and Sunk Cost Fallacy can hit hard after literal decades, huh?

Er on streams vs ER in his videos is so strange. Does he pound a gallon of coffee and hit record? He sounds so sleepy/timid

Act man has some energy tho

Not really invested in Halo. Though I am curious if they make appeals to the source material.
They do but they quickly backslide into "even if it wasn't an adaptation it would be bad".

Had it into second monitor for a long while and it was an ok episode, if a little boring. E;R speaks more than in previous appearances but is still little and sometimes he gets drown out by others, also I noticed that he writes in chat and talks to the audience a little. CJG and Act Man did ok and there weren't any major spergouts.

So a bunch of people on the subreddit have been pissing over Kuro The Artist's (TheInkTank) video on modern movies. The basic rundown is that people seemingly can't enjoy a piece of media, they have to pick apart media and use their "critique" as a way to feel superior to others who are positive and indifferent. Even Kuro has admitted he's fallen prey to this lately and has decided to roll back on this method.

Let's face it, his Ben 10 breakdowns are way better than anything MauLer makes, since Kuro does way more than analyze the writing.

So naturally, the subreddit in bad faith start calling Kuro a "consumer" or "mentally unstable".

Now Kuro isn't some rando on the internet so it's possible MauLer has been requested to EFAP the former's video. Should they do this, we'll probably have a Jenny 2.0 scenario here. MauLer and Co will arrogantly assume that Kuro would be easy pickings. The problem is that Kuro is basically a messiah figure in the Ben 10 community and has an incredibly passionate fanbase. Ever wondered why Ben 10 vs Green Lantern became the second controversial deathbattle in history? It's because of Kuro.

Honestly, I want them to trip into the hyenas den. Content on this thread has been slow as of late.

Also, here's some insanity:

Meanwhile JLong put up S3E4 of Batwoman and just look at the excuses the EFAP stans gave because one commenter pointed out their laziness.

I wouldn’t say Kuro is mentally ill. His video is just ass. He basically says “Stop thinking critically! I can’t enjoy the film otherwise! It’s not like I can just ignore you!!!” An alternate title could be “Your Opinions Are Invalid; Stop Talking About Them: A Video Essay”. On another note, his previous video is titled “The WORST of Ben 10 So Far”. Fuck’s sake, why can’t he just let us like Ben 10?

E;R seems like the kinda guy who thinks about everything he says meticulously before he says it, and says nothing if he has nothing to say.

I think he's just pretty socially awkward, so when on a live stream he gets pretty quiet. He sounds a little drunk on this one, which might explain why he talks a bit more than his usual quiet self.

It's hard to disagree on anyone shitting on the Halo tv series, so low hanging fruit perhaps, but it works.

He was arguing that people will basically be critical of not just a work they can't enjoy but the people who like it, followed by him saying he's been doing the same as of late and that's not what he wants to be.

Whether or not he'll follow through remains to be seen, but it was hardly a case of "Critical Thinking Bad"

I've been out of the loop with EFAP stuff, mostly I was a Rags fan and was introduced to Mauler and EFAP though him. Honestly I haven't watched EFAP in years but going through the thread and streams makes me annoyed with how far they've stumbled, like I liked Rags old shit his PC stuff and all that jazz was nice noise for my monkey brain and even before his return the latest vids where alright but nothing really special since 'Muh SJW', maybe I haven't really seen it in his older stuff, but he seems to have gotten bitter, specially in his new shit and in EFAP. Like this Sargon sense of smug and superiority I guess? Like his recent video had him shout out that one artist, Zaush(?), who draws cub shit and that was just weird and unsettling like... mother fucker promoting one of the more degenerate furry artists out there.

Kinda sucks seeing all these people you liked become losers.

I've tried to listen to the Dr Strange EFAP.
The Longman Bad shit is really starting to get noticeable now.
An hour of their whining could be said in 5 minutes clearly and to the point if you GASP wrote a fucking script but then SHOCK you wouldn't be able to get superchats.

At least if they were actually funny, like if you would get Bill Burr, Dave Chapelle and Ricky Gervais to do the same shit these morons are doing, watch a movie and then talk shit about it and make jokes, that would probably be a hit because it would be funny.
None of them, even MauLer at this point, can have a career entirely on their own because they're nobodies with no personalities, they all need to come together like the fucking Avengers to generate enough of an audience to be relevant enough for at least a few of them to make money off of it..

Also the point of the podcast is completely lost on them.
Watch the 1st episode, it's a completely different show.
It really is just laughing at retards on the internet.
You have so much to work with just by reacting to the nonsense you see and hear.
With something like Doctor Strange that's mediocre, high production value and bad writing but in a way that's safe and marketable, you have to actually write a joke or be naturally funny, and none of these is a part of EFAP.
They're just throwing shit at the wall and, when they get a joke that sticks, they milk it for 6 months with memes and other nonsense until you puke every time you hear it.

A huge chunk of the video is him listing various criticisms of media (some legitimate and some silly) and responding, “Really? This is what we’re doing now?” I don’t recall much about criticizing people who like something. If that was the message, I don’t believe any examples were given, and it wasn’t communicated very clearly.
