I really like BlameItOnJorge, but it killed me how fake and attention-seeking the titular Reddit story was. Or maybe I just don't trust any Reddit story, period.

There's just something about it. I have no doubt that the OP had a love for saving obscure media and was searching for a song, but I feel like the "I'm dying" part was bullshit. There were commenters who had the same suspicion and they explained it better than I can.
I can agree on some of this, the voice being young can be something that lasts into adulthood, but the account only being active for a day, if true, despite the claim they needed to find this song before death (and seeing when this was covered elsewhere, people were suggesting treatments which may have made the OP think their story was going too far). But if they were active for only a day, does Anne know them personally? I guess they could just make socks a lot to produce sob stories.
Yeah, I have no clue. It's purely conjecture. Speculation. I wouldn't be "surprised" if the OP was being truthful all along and I'm a dick, but you'd think she'd provide more to proof she's dying. I mean, if you're dying, why not dox a medical paper/scan or two? As far as I know, she hasn't re-emerged elsewhere to advertise this search, which seems counterproductive to her cause.
There is a reason that people that look it to that stuff for a living (People that work in trust and safety online, Law enforcement/FBI) go through training to help them deal with seen that kind of material so often.
Yeah the story itself sounds way to cliche to be real, plus the OP being active for that one day also pretty much should be a sign that it's most likely fake. Hey at least some good obscure music was found, I'm still sad no one mentioned Joy Division as a potential candidate.
