its incredible how DSP decided he would give hard mode a go, and in the very first combat section of the game he raged and said this game isnt meant to be played on hard. Just mind boggling. Before that jungle section the game was pretty much stealth sections.

I also noticed how he just stayed behind a box that was being destroyed and i guess he decided that staying behind that box while being shot at was a good choice

Exactly, it seems like YouTube was looking for chat participants who were BOTH:
1. Not already a DSP member
2. Chose to opt-in to receive gifted memberships

I think it dispensed 1 or 2 memberships (of course chat was coincidentally broken in both DDM and Raw tonight of all nights so I couldn't verify) but it still had some left to give out, however there was no one else remaining who met the above criteria. The notification hangs around for like 5 minutes, and if nobody shows up who meets those criteria, the remaining memberships are refunded to the purchaser. This is my interpretation of what happened.

Edit: It looks like he also had 1 new member and 1 renewal, since his chat was frozen on DDM and Raw I can't check if it was a true renewal or an auto-renewal. i.e. it may be possible that actual zero people accepted the gifted memberships. Literally the one fucking night I need to double-check his chat and it broke

Not directly, but he'd be able to tell by if you were talking in chat but had a grey name because in that case the membership should have been picked up by you.

Of course I believe that at this time you can only opt-in on PC so if you were a mobile user that would be one explanation.

While I agree with the sentiment, the real issue is he is not getting offered anything and is lying about it to appear better than others - though I don't know how you square that circle - while telling the dents to fork over their cash. That's why you should be mad.

You obviously weren't raised Catholic like Phil so you don't have a set of robust principles and morals, don't you know what Jesus said in Matthew 19?

I refuse to believe there are people out there as dysfunctional as Jeff who just have 100 dollars to dump into a black hole every single day. Fucking really? How the fuck does he function? Engineering is one of those fields where emotional people without grit tend to get weeded out rather quickly. How do you go from being calm, rational, disciplined and pretty smart to feeling as though you owe a random 40-year old asshole on the internet $25 a day? That is 100% some sort of mental illness. I was idling in his chat when whoever dropped his 5 gifted members that weren't accepted with the option enabled. I got nothing. My youtube account is pretty old(10+ years) but I've only been subbed to Dave for the past week trying to snipe a gifted member from one of his dents. Maybe time subbed has something to do with it. I've had memberships to other youtube channels so if Youtube has some kind of secret account trust score "behind the scenes" mine would surely be very high since I have been actually stupid enough to send youtube money.

I was thinking this too, but DSP would never agree to any type of boxing match. The guy has ran away from or cowered in fear at any sort of physical confrontation he's been faced with. Dude even admitted to crying when those FGC guys pressed him in a parking lot. Keemstar told Ethan Ralph that if he agreed to the fight against Andy Warksi he'd be guaranteed about 100k. Even though DSP could get a lot of gacha pulls and door dash out of 100k he's still too much of a coward to do it. No idea who'd he even fight, WingsofRedemption maybe? Pretty sure that big ol country boy would knock Phil out.
