Here in NY, Chris wouldn't have qualified to go to a District 75 school. District 75 schools are schools especially and only for severely impaired children. If anything, Chris would have had an Individual Education Plan that stated he would need pullout time to a resource room, one on one help, time with the school psychologist, etc. He may have even had a Behavioral Intervention Plan. But for him to have been allowed in a regular classroom with no kind of additional help was wrong of the school, wrong of the district, and definitely wrong of his parents.

Sorry if I sound preachy but special educational needs is an important topic to me.

Well, Chris had a pretty hard life when you think about it from a certain point of view. His parents were in their forties when they conceived him, which meant that they wouldn't have had the energy to properly raise a child, not to mention the associated health issues that could arise from such a conception. His parents rarely told him no, which led to a feeling of entitlement on his part for anything (like gifts or girlfriends). His autism made getting friends very hard for him, and led to numerous oddities that happened due to his parents not wanting to get him treatment. His galpals were being compensated, and thus weren't really his friends.

If he weren't such a goofball and asshole, he'd be a (more) tragic figure.

See, this is why I have more sympathy for Chris than I have for other lolcows. So much of what's wrong with him is because of his fucked-up crazy parents. I'm not saying that he bears no responsibility for his actions, but I think he'd be in a far better position in life if he'd had parents who gave more of a shit about his needs than their own pride.

How I felt about all this. They really should've listened to the advice given to them before it was too late.

Bob was well into his fifties whenChris was conceived actually. That just makes matters worse, I regret to say.

To be fair, Chris did have special programs like a "coping skills" class.
