Sadly Roman is ducking him like a cowardly shit.

Note that as soon as Cody came in, Roman started working with the Usos and became fixated on feuding with Orton and Riddle and even Drew McIntyre has reared his head back up as a possible opponent for Roman. And not to mention him declaring he was "taking the summer off" from defending the belts. Hell, I would not be shocked if Roman's behind pushing to break up RKBro both to kill Riddle's push and to free up Orton as another alternate alonside Drew to avoid having to lose to Cody.

Gargano beating Roman would also be a way for HHH to stick it to Cody, plus exact a pound of flesh for Vince dissolving his version of NXT and running off Hunter's most prized pets the Undisputed Era. HHH is if anything if not vindictive and I can possibly see Gargano coming back for Hunter, especially if Hunter manipulates Vince into bringing back a revived main roster version of the Way as the perfect foil for the Bloodline in terms of Gargano, Lumis, and Theory against Roman and the Usos.
Gargano doesn’t fucking work there anymore you moron

lol, Vince has final say on everything in WWE and if he doesn't want Roman to have the belt then he'll just put it on Brock because Cena is pretty much retired.

Cody will be midcard after Summerslam, Gargano is gone and no one knows who Lumis or Theory are.

Except Theory is being built up to... uh, something? Vince saw his own shadow after botching the stunner at Wrestlemania, and so hasn't crawled out of his den since. I dunno what the old fuck could be thinking, but considerind Theory is still connected to Vince gimmick-wise, he's not yet bored of him. It doesn't matter that the fans don't know who Theory is when Vince does.

If Vince knows who Theory is, then the fans will know who theory is...whether they want to or not!

The former Damien Sandow gave his opinion on Sasha and Naomi. Unfortunately he deleted the tweet because he went against the narrative.

Ibushi is elaborating a bit on his issues with New Japan. Apparently they've been in constant contact with him since he went out injured trying to get him to come back before he has fully recovered and they threatened to fire him because of it numerous times. Also, his mother tried to commit suicide a few weeks ago.

It the most Japanese situation ever.

He's right.

The new generation needs a Captain Lou to teach them the only thing real is the money and the miles.

koko b ware made 10x the money dancing to the ring with a bird and losing in 5 minutes than any "serious competitor" in some shithole middle of nowhere territory

Dolph Ziggler gets paid like $1.6 million dollars I'm sure he's crying all the way to the bank that he rarely gets a title run

People need to stop caring about their imaginary spot in their fake fighting over their prop belt it really is a mark mentality obsessing over being a main eventer in fake fighting

A few sources are claiming that Sasha and Naomi left the arena at 5 in the afternoon before Raw last week so WWE basically announced a match on the live show that they knew wouldn't be going ahead to use it as an attempt to make it seem it was the talent that let the fans down rather than the company.
You'd have to get local TV and radio adverts to fully support this argument. Local markets will usually run ads hyping the TV main event days or weeks ahead of the show.

Is that the case with WWE though? I haven't watched the weekly show in a good while but they were always making matches on the show and announcing little or nothing beforehand.

Like I said, local networks and radio stations play adverts for Raw and Smackdown (and some live events depending on the city). Usually they'd mention a main event match, especially if it's a gimmick match with a stipulation.

EDIT: For example, I looked at local stations next week hyping Seth vs Cody, RKBro vs Alpha Academy and a three way between Becky, Bianca, and Rhea.

June 20th has RKBro vs Street profits and the same three way (which might hint that it's a 'dark main event').

It's so weird how many weird ass Wrestling pages have popped up for me on social media over this whole thing. I haven't reguarly watched WWE in damn near 20 years and pretty much only keep a very basic knowledge about it due to a few friends and a sister who are hardcores.

Of course, the people I know and the people on these social media pages are all going on and on about supporting the talent and not "the billion dollar business" while they constantly watch/buy their product and will continue to do so. (this was something I also saw when they did the Saudi shows years ago)

It's so weird to me how much these people can seemingly hate the WWE and yet cannot stop giving them money.

The card for Double or Nothing is a mess.

  • The Hookhausen Pre Show Match is, admittedly, kind of fun. I don't remember being this invested in a PreShow match, and its even sadder that I am more excited for said match than I am most of the main card. Obviously Hookhausen wins.
  • The TBS Title match is random. I think Cargill is a great attraction they've developed and I like Anna Jay enough, but there is no story here and a title change is impossible. Its just filler
  • The Death Triangle Vs. House of Black SHOULD be AEW's version of The Shield Vs. The Wyatt Family. As is, AEW has so many stables and groups, that this thing just got lost in the shuffle. What's even the story? One dark and spooky group doesn't like the other? OK. The match itself could actually be a bit of a sleeper hit, but they could have made this a top attraction and instead, it just feels like filler. House of Black is afforded the most protection of the two groups, so they will likely win.
  • For the Owen Hart tourney matches, the finals for the men will most likely be Cole Vs. Joe which is...fine, I guess. Personally, I don't care about Joe all that much anymore. Cole should win.
  • For the Women's Brackets, I can tell you the Finals will suck because they are doing Britt Vs. Toni in the Semifinals on Wednesday. The comparison I will make is that King of the Ring tourney where Jericho Vs. Angle was in the first round. Once that happened, the rest of the tourney was fucked. Well here, Britt and Toni are the two top girls and that would be the ideal finals. Since that's not what's happening, you create a lackluster finals where either the star talent obviously wins, or it'll be stupid if she doesn't. I mean if Ruby or Statlander beat Britt or Storm, I'll roll my eyes.
  • 3 Way Tag Title Match will be a pinball match where all six guys just bounce around. I guess its neat having powerhouses like Lee, Hobbs, and Luchasaurus in there to keep it from being a complete flippy floppy match, but its going to be mindless action from bell to bell. Champs retain methinks.
  • Thunder Rosa Vs. Serena Deeb for the Women's Title is another one that feels like it should be a really good match but outside of the promo on this week's Dynamite, it has virtually no story. I like Deeb and I felt she was underrated during her main run in WWE, so hopefully she gets to shine here, but I don't think there will be a title change or anything. Champ retains.
  • Hardys Vs. Bucks...ok, these two teams had an awesome Ladder Match in ROH on the WrestleMania weekend where they made their return at Mania. It was a hell of a two night showing for the Hardys, but that was a few years ago, and Jeff looks downright awful now. Honestly, it looks like the hellacious bumps finally caught up with him. Because of that, I don't think we'll be getting the all time classic that this is meant to be. Bucks will likely do most of the work and hopefully get the win, but I don't expect much here.
  • Jericho Appreciation Society Vs. Blackpool Combat Club in Anarchy in the Arena Match...whatever that is. So I'm confused. Are Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz with BCC now or are they merely teaming up to take down a mutual enemy? That wasn't clear to me. Anyway, this will be the wild free for all match on the show and will likely be fun given who is involved, but again, the build up hasn't grabbed me.
  • MJF Vs. Wardlow is not official yet, but come on, we know its going to happen. This has far and away been the best feud in AEW heading into this show. Wardlow is honestly the hottest face in the company right now. I say he wins and then get booked on the path to getting a belt sooner than later.
  • Punk Vs. Hangman for the title feels like a main event done out of obligation. Punk is a star they want to use for the card and Hangman has nobody else lined up to face him so....here it is! The match will probably turn out well but I am nowhere near as excited as I should be for a main event.
And it is also worth noting that a ton of significant names are left off the card, including Darby, Sting, Sammy, Scorpio, FTR, reDRagon, and either Britt or Toni. I'm not arguing that everybody needs to be on every PPV, but it seems weird that FTR and reDRagon got left out while Team Taz and the Swerve/Lee team are in the title match. It seems weird they are doing a Hardys/Bucks match at this stage, when I'd honestly rather see The Bucks go up against Sting and Darby. It seems weird that either Britt or Toni will get left off the card while Anna Jay and either Statlander or, God help me, Ruby Soho got on.

I think part of the issue is that during the build up to this show, we had the ROH purchase and the NJPW joint show announcement. This saw an influx of new titles and talents being crammed into the show, derailing the direction for this event, and making everything kind of a mess.

As we have reached yet another anniversary of Owen Hart's death, I'd like share my hypothesis on what the original plans were for OTE 1999 based on footage from earlier shows:

So after the Blue Blazer promo finishes up, the cameras cut to Blazer dangling a few feet over the ground due to harness "malfunction". Godfather comes out and beats Blazer like a pinata (perhaps some of the Hoes join in too). As for whether Owen/Blazer really was going to win the match and the IC title is unknown, as if Vince and co. said that Owen was planned to lose the match, that would mean he had died from a full jobber entrance, and would have made the company look worse in hindsight so it's understandable if they lied and said he would've won.

Nothing much changes from the show until the end of the main event where Shane McMahon screws Steve Austin out of the world title. Instead of simply beating him up in the ring, Austin takes Shane over to the Undertaker cross in the entrance set, ties him up and lets him rise. Were an accident to happen with Shane and the crucifix, the show was ending anyway, so Bret Hart's one comment would never truly be proven.

so what's the crazy versions out there of Owen's death, like "Sullivan killed the Benoits and framed Chris while sacrificing them to Satan" levels
