Frankly this amount is absolutely outrageous, and significantly more than any pig in history has ever had to pay.
In all seriousness, I'm guessing Vickers the retard started with Ethan's self-claimed income of $70k a year, which ball parking makes $1100 seem reasonable. It's a smart play, because now Ralph either has to admit that he was lying about the $70k or pay up.
EDIT: Using
this absolute nightmare of a CA Child Support Calculator, using $6k for Ralph's monthly income, $2k for Faith (no idea what she does so this is made up), and Ralph having 5% custody, the child support amount is $1087. So yeah that's kind of where I think the $1100 comes from.
Yeah it's not surprising at all really, I had a look at a calculator a little while back and it was about $1,000 at the time. Inflation may have effected the cost of raising a child.
I assumed that Faith doesn't have a job, is a single mother being supported by her parents and living with her grandmother. This is in line with
@MWV statements, so perhaps a pinch of salt is required, she did used to work in the Coin Shop.
Ralph can't even hide his income really, he posts about his recurring expenditure and his alleged income was exposed during the Alice leaks.
As for the stipulation of once every other month supervised, that sounds reasonable. Ralph has never met his son, is a violent felon credibly accused of domestic abuse against the mother and convicted of revenge porn, with a documented history of drug and alcohol abuse. He has never sent anything for his son either, and was only interested in sending a picture of his mother rather than say items and resources that could be used to support Xander. Plus, based on the distance from Faith does he really expect to visit more than that?
If I am fair and forgetting this is Ethan Ralph who is undeserving of sympathy, these should only be starting conditions of course and if he can prove himself capable of sticking to the conditions his access to Xander should increase. Unfortunately, because of his own behaviour he has made his own bed in this one and will need to do the hard work to get himself out of it!
This is one of those times I think Ralph really is fucked in court. He can go in there and talk about Mr Vickers - irrelevant - Faith lying - irrelevant - and talk about how they are trying to stop him from seeing Xander - this relatively reasonable offer shows otherwise - but ultimately anyone would look at it and see an abusive, fat, hollering idiot who took a year to go through with gaining access to his son all the while claiming they were stopping his access. All those times he said he was gonna reroll Xander, that he was gonna wait for Xander to come to him, that he was never gonna pay...
Well Ralph, maybe running your fat mouth is going to bite you in the ass after all.
