MrBallen doesn't do very good research. I came to that conclusion when he featured the Horton Mine video on his channel.Here's MrBallen with some boring clickbait. The TLDR is that the "child star" was some convicted murderer and robber who claimed to have once played a non-speaking role on an episode of Power Rangers, but his claim was disputed and never actually proven. MrBallen uses a clickbait thumbnail and description to lead you to believe some washed up child star like Macaulay Cuklin became a serial killer or some shit.

The problem with the Exploring Abandoned Mines and Unusual Places channel (where the video comes from) is that the guy actually got exposed as a fraud a few years back. I think what happened is that not enough people were interested in abandoned mines, so he decided to start faking stuff. He went from a few hundred subs to 409K today because he found out ghost shit gets more views.
(BTW, I came to this thread because that Jimmy faggot's meltdown made it into the Spiderman thread to be mocked. I usually don't go in Beauty Parlor. This is a good thread).

I watched the “Broken Harts” documentary about the lesbians who adopted a bunch of black kids and then murder-suicided the whole family by driving them off a cliff. I was looking for more content about the story and found this guy's channel:
His production isn't the best*, but I think I like this guy. This video had information in it that I didn't get from the Broken Harts documentary (specifically the stuff about the Harts abandoning their first adopted teenager), and I found his personality and commentary pretty enjoyable. He sounds unscripted and conversational but not rambling, and he doesn't hold back his emotion but isn't hamming it up either.
I'm gonna watch some more of his videos, he's covered some cases that haven't been done to death.
*Edit: ok the one I posted is from 3 years ago and he has improved notably in all aspects AND lost weight. I’m currently watching his video on Jaren Lockhart which is from 1 year ago and it’s off to a great start.

I think I remember hearing that some people that did videos exposing that guy got their videos taken down. I think it happened to Nexpo (I could be wrong), but I do remember someone having to repost their video somewhere else and saying it got taken down for copyright or something.

Nexpo has been talking about fighting Dad/Nathan for a bit over a week now, ever since Idubbz's Creator Clash. So far I assumed he was just joking around, but now I'm starting to wonder. Considering the stupid ideas he likes to jump into from time to time, I wouldn't be surprised if he actually wants to get into Youtuber boxing. Either way I don't think we're getting a new video from him for a while.

this was mentioned before in the thread but it still makes me happy to see people noticing it. the lack of research for their videos is getting really common, not just for ballen.
we got LazyMasquerade doing a video of clips where he gets the entire video wrong about the story (deon dreyer and david shaw, they were not "good friends" and david was an extremely experienced diver)
and then just recently urmaker claimed he couldn't find information on a 911 call he covered and yet a quick google brought everything up about the case

Stuff like this is what draws me to channels like Barelysociable. I can't stand people who refuse to put in any research and parrot misinformation, it's even worse when it comes to channels reliant on the supernatural or "unexplained"
Side note, but while I love Wendigoon's personality one thing that really bothered me on his conspiracy iceberg was when he told the story of some Italian catacombs where a whole class of students went missing. My interest was peaked and I wanted to read more about their disappearance since that's a large amount of people to go missing. When I went to look it up though on of the top search results was an article about how that was misinformation printed in National Geographic in the 40s.
I know Wendigoon said he had no interest in debunking the entirety of the Iceberg, but when it's literally the first thing that comes up when you search for it presenting that story without a disclaimer seems disingenuous and undoubtedly more information in the videos must be similarly faulty.
