That is correct. She wasn't too worried about the demonetization. But Cover was worried about her channel being terminated because of the violent imagery in the decapitation/self-harm videos and such (that, and she had to private a bunch of her lore videos because of the presence of copyrighted music).

She's gone from this (Oopsie, I was slapped down for sexy ASMR):

To this (Fuck this, being seiso is for the unimaginative):

To this (Come on Susan, I fucking dare you! If you won't do it, I will!):

Truly the strongest idol.
So what you're saying is that Haachama was once a seiso girl until she broke yabai? Is this what the hip anime consumers on the streets call 'moral degeneration'?
Someone needs to make a Haachama meme with her seiso and yabai persona with title "Breaking Yabai"

what do you mean, haachama was always seiso. she's an idol after all...

Watching Millie's cube game stream at the moment. She mentioned she got into a really bad argument with Enna and was nearly IRL-unfriended, to which in Millie fashion, she decided to bawl her eyes out and voice call her to patch things up.
on stream?

I tuned in late it seems!

Millie is good civ. She was talking about how proud she is that Enna is growing as fast as she is (she's currently the fastest-growing NijiEN girl on a daily basis, ahead of even Nina).

But I hope Millie doesn't overlook how much she's been able to grow and develop, either. She's more than 3x the size of Lyrica at the time of graduation announcement in 1/3 of the time of activity, and even in Niji she has started doing stuff she loves and is seeing results for it.

That's literally what he said. Your gaydar just interpreted it as 'Niji bias' because Niji was mentioned.

Learn to read before tribalfagging.

"Gaydar", nice, sure. "Tribalfagging" has just become your "NO U" at this point.

Not really bias. For example how can Gura or Kiara's lore play into realistically anything that they've put to use compared to (as I exampled) Ame be it her "official lore" or stuff she's become known for? Kiara is a phoenix and gura is a shark from atlantis basically. They don't really have a purpose, lore wise, for existing or doing what they do. Hence why I said it depends on the talent themselves to really sell it at the end of the day. A lot of Niji lore matched the talents perfectly because it fits how their content flow has been going because (again as exampled) Vox's lore fits his personality perfectly and Millie's is just a chaotic nature and if you watch her...it fits perfectly even to the point of being concernfag worthy at times lol. It's why I even mentioned Haato's eventual push into doing lore dumps making it more interesting because for all intents and purposes, she was just a highschool girl with really nothing special about her and ended up giving a method to her madness. So no, there's no bias, it's just if we go with lore being good/bad/useful/worthless and its use with the chubba, there are some legit worthless lore that you can't really play into no matter how good you are at RP. Gura's TTRPG character has more going for her than "gura" does.

Calli brings up being a reaper all the time. Kiara uses the phoenix/rebirth thing occasionally too and has pivoted some of it into the KFP angle which is used CONSTANTLY. The whole TakaMori thing, when it was still a thing, played up the lore of them both being immortal and together for eternity. Ame plays into her time and timeline thing all the time, mostly in just a fun and less serious way, but nonetheless it is used. Ina plays up her stuff somewhat, but largely in imagery and nods, but like Kiara she has pivoted a lot of it more on the Takodachi/member aspect, but it is still there. Gura is probably your best example as she doesn't do much with hers and seems kind of indifferent to it on her own, but does use it a bit here and there during collabs and such where it fits. That's more just on her not really jiving with it I think though and someone else could do more with it if they had ended up the ones "assigned" to be Gura. Still she does try to play it up a bit here and there, for example building atlantis/water based stuff in minecraft.

Staying with HoloEN, Council plays up their lore ALL the time. Basically all their interactions involve in-fighting between and playing up the time, nature, civilization, etc. angle. And even during non-collab times they frequently bring up those aspects of their lore. It feels like they may have been picked specifically because some of them fit the roles well too, like has been pointed out how perfect for being "nature" Fauna is.

For HoloJP/ID and many others, many of them play up parts of their lore when useful and other times they just stream when it isn't really appropriate or necessary to lean into it heavily. So I don't get how you think Niji is any better. With 200+ members or whatever they are at I'm sure there are some who use their lore a decent amount and it fits and there are others who basically completely ignore it at this point, just like anywhere else. I doubt any of them are 100% all the time deep in to the lore and always "on" when just dicking around in Mario Kart or whatever. It seems like you cherry-picked examples from each group that fit whatever you were trying to get across and only selectively brought up points that fit your narrative. On top of that there are plenty of examples of those talents who you brought up as beacons of supposedly never using their lore, who in fact use their lore for all kinds of things. Just pointing that out.

Debut lore written by a starry eyed pre-debut talent ( or the team that developed the character) is a lot like like planning for a battle: It usually doesn't survive first contact.

Ame gets a lot of mentions about reworking the detective angle, but Kiara and Ina should get recognized as well for following that route. The Phoenix warrior lore for example became secondary, what really worked was the lore that developed as she grew KFP, which was her idea from the start. It went from investors into indentured servants posing as employees, the Usual Room became a reality and now she's up to owning a Mech suit. Her organizing the birds of Hololive into a unit with its own history is what brought her Phoenix back to relevance and no doubt helped the others.

As for Ina. she created the Takodachi but it was the community she fostered that made them into what they are today: earnest, if dopey with a poor diet and limited brain functions. Like Minions with tentacles. instantly memorable compared to the others in EN, to a point where now Ina has created Takos of each EN member. Ina herself has also developed a lot of lore to what she is - a lot more lowkey than Kiara, but its there. From creepy photos of her as a child suggesting that she is far older than she appears (plays into her being on the verge of Hagdom) to her recent Observer character she developed for April 1st.

The point is that the initial lore shouldn't be over planned. It should be there vaguely to get the ball rolling, but it's up to the talent to build upon it, otherwise it just gets tired real fast and you end up with 4 girls barely acknowledging it.

Lots of good points in there that are similar to mine above.

Wait, Karen was at ACEN as DD while Gura and Bae were there as Vchuubas? That's hilarious.

I was kind of hoping my rrat would come true and this would be the Samemori off-collab I've been waiting for. I'm not particularly the greatest fan of either, but together it's lightning in a bottle.

I don't know if it has been confirmed either way, but I assume the con stuff they do isn't in person is it? Obviously DDK is there for her concert, but Gura and Bae can do their stuff remotely since it is all just their live2d models.

Good lord, do you just take what you see on /vt/ with blind faith? She's had issues with Pekora because she went from idolizing her as a fan to having to work with her and that's an awkward transition. She realized over time that she went way too hard too often and started to dial shit back all the way back to the Summer of last year. All three of the original birds spoke fluent Japanese so there was always quite a bit of Japanese in any of the Subaru collabs, and the only reason the most recent one had less Japanese is because Mumei knows zero Japanese compared to Subaru being able to hold small talk in English.

She's never lost her KFP bit, the TakaMori shit being kicked to the curb was because she got tired of being pidgeonholed into it by fans consistantly whenever she'd even so much as try to go 'teetee' with any other member and people would spazz about Mori, and she's talked extensively about seeing the other girls as having more useful qualities or skills than her. Call her an insecure doofus and I'd agree, but leveraging HoloTalk as a way to leech is just retarded.
Lol, holy shit, calm your tits. I'm sorry I said I didn't like your queen. Dude, leave the simping at the door. She'll never love you.

I've seen her do everything I have listed. If you have to roleplay that anyone who doesn't like her only doesn't because of some random forum, you have an issue. Even in my own post I said there might be more that I hadn't seen (seen is the important word). I don't follow Vtubers on any board apart from here where I very rarely stick my head in (mainly because there is no discussion, if you disagree on liking a vtuber the simps just go nuts... you know... hint hint, like this).

So, basically everything I have listed was correct, that she jumped from gimmick to gimmick (with more popular creators), that the holobird collabs now just have the most popular member sitting awkwardly in the corner, I never said she "stopped doing KFP" lol. I said the Cali thing got nixxed, you just believe it's because she didn't want to be...pigeonholed. Okay. Sure. Totally. Oh and Pekora, she stopped because... uh... she didn't want to get pigeonholed or something too? Cool. I wonder how many more times that excuse would be used. And 100% the Holotalk thing was leeching attention.

I do not call her an "insecure doofus" (dude you should have cringed and deleted that the moment you typed it, you might as well have typed *my queen <3*), nothing about her comes off as being insecure as we get the 50th "owo guys i'm in a bikini" post. She's pure simp bait. That's how she started with her fake lesbian relationship with Cali because she didn't have a personality, it's how she's still going with this hilarious 52 part series about her collabing with Reine where "HEY GUYS I'M IN A BIKINI" lol

Look, I get it. I mildly criticised your waifu. I know that sent you into a blind rage and you had to defend her, but dude, come on. Not everyone is going to like your queen, you don't have to flip the fuck out about it. Rate autistic like all the other upset simps, move on, don't cry.

So what you're saying is that Haachama was once a seiso girl until she broke yabai? Is this what the hip anime consumers on the streets call 'moral degeneration'?

No, Akai Haato was seiso...until Haachama fought her way into her skull and rearranged the place to be more fitting for an elder god of insanity.

And 100% the Holotalk thing was leeching attention.

Kiara ain't my waifu, but I enjoy the Holotalk series. It gives me the opportunity to learn more about the JP talents that I don't usually follow because of the language barrier, and Kiara's linguistics skills and personality make her perfect for this role.

That, plus I respect her sheer tenacity. She's been through a decade of shit that would have easily broken most people, and she's powered through it all to carve out her own niche. Hate her all you want, but she has guts and I have to respect that.

Idk why they would fly out Bae half way across the world to attend a con for 2 days when she doesn't need to be there physically, so I would suspect they are not there in-person. Just seems like a lot of time wasted for what would essentially be cutting milliseconds of audio and video delay. Gura maybe, but even that seems like a waste of time and money.

I'd like to think Calli was at least be able to stop by their booths to say howdy before or after the event.

There's been some unknown development with mii-chan. I hope everything's ok.

I'm sure @Nene's Husband will praise me for not being at the heart of this absolute trainwreck feud about V-Tuber lore.

Millie talking about how she's known Aruvn for years. Important because I personally tip Aruvn to go corporate at some point and it's certainly a point of consideration.

Also given streams it's pretty likely that they didn't go in person. Beyond that, I feel like they probably chat/face cam semi-regularily, so with it being such a busy weekend for DDK (concert, meet and greet multiple times in the weekend, signings at TYPE FAKE booth all weekend) I'm guessing they were pretty seperate.

It seems like a lot of you equate character design and setting, with lore. Not saying anyone is wrong but personally I consider them separately. As an example, for our favourite chicken to hate: phoenix turned part-time warrior is her character setting, thirsty holobirb KFP owner is her lore. Maybe this distinction is what makes me think a lot of holoJP don't really have lore and just ride their character settings except obviously Haachama and a few others to a much lesser extent. So essentially my distinction is that lore is anything that adds to the roleplay of the character and is not necessarily just the kayfabe.
