Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

although obviously the Bri'ish just stab or bomb one another
>homicide
That word doesn't mean what you think it means. Seriously, homicide includes literally any man induced death. Suicides, accidents, lawful killings, criminals killing other criminals, all of it. Homicide is a useless term to bloat stats.

this thread is fucking AIDS. you fags don't care about this shit anymore than the retards on TV do. You were chomping at the bit to talk about how the media was going to make this about gun control because you couldn't give less of a shit about the dead, you only want to pretend you're on the right side because some dude on the frontier didn't want to get assfucked by bears so he said we should have guns. Everything you could find on the dude was just more evidence that the left was going to ignore this or that everything you've ever thought was completely correct and the only reason you're a failure is because (((THEY))) orchestrated it that way, it's the only answer.

it's a drama site about internet personalities. I want to learn about this tard's shit. I want to see what he post and what he watched and try to understand it and crack a joke because nowhere else will let you do that and it's nauseating to see you secondaries pollute the site and think because you're red instead of blue it's ok. God I hope Null really does make a seperate site for happenings because it has leaked into the rest of the forums like a broken diaper. NORMIES GET OUT REEEEEEEEE

don't dislike my post you fucking babies say something you spineless cowards
Is it even possible to have a thread on a major politically controversial topic that's civil and primarily about archival? Seems like a pipe dream. I think the system of a split shitposting(this board)/serious(happenings or proper lolcow thread) is the best compromise you can get.

I don’t think it’s everywhere in America but a lot of the more fortunate school districts lock the doors after the last bell and visitors have to be buzzed in through a main entrance.

This is fucking awful, I kept reading this hoping the body count was mostly injuries and it’s going up instead.
Fucking cowardly freak shooting up little kids and taking the cowards way out after he does it.
These poor parents.

That's good to hear, I have a nephew who is not quite school age and this is the kind of thing that doesn't infringe on anyone and is now sadly, IMO needed. I remember when I was young people were shocked about metal detectors going into schools (and then later - 'school resource officers'), but it became the new normal. Locking doors probably should be too.

I will shitpost on all your boards as is my god-given right to do this. Call it the 1st KF amendment.

perhaps we should turn the school into something that resembles a prison

a prison that keeps children safe

Sure, as long as you don't hire private security or don't live in a gated community and you fully trust the police and don't want to defund them.
I'd honestly vote someone that's willing to arm anyone mentally unstable in their gated communities. Maybe that's just me.

Some facts about the shooting thus far:

1. The shooter was an 18 year old named Rolando Romas who attended Uvalde High School
2. Robb Elementary School is 90% Latino (im not calling it latinx)
3. Nearly half of Uvalde, Texas is non-English speaking
4. The city of about 16,000 people is approximately 60 miles from the United States-Mexico border

To be fair, regardless of who this guy was, what his thoughts and intentions were, and how others may spin the story to fit their agenda, it is safe to say that most of us here hate child killers and think they deserve the rope. We can all agree on that at the very least.

I'm actually surprised that doors being locked wasn't more common place. I don't live in the USA, but when I was in primary and secondary school (and this was before Sandy Hook), the doors were all locked and visitors had to appear on an intercom camera before being let in. Granted, this measure would only be a hinderance if someone was dead set on getting in, but it provides enough of a buffer to begin the lockdown process and alert the police. However, my school didn't even have a set lockdown procedure because the concept of school shootings was such a foreign concept.

Edit: Spelling errors. Added some extra details.

The only problem with beefing up school security is that unless you make it a prison, I don't think it'll really deter anyone.

Fenced in and have to be buzzed in?
No problem, drive your car through the fence.
Windows on the first story make for an easy entrance as well.

Want to get in easy? Just walk in while kids are being dropped off wearing something normal/professional looking, when you get spotted you can start shooting.

There's no easy answer to the school shooting problem. It is just another symptom of a decaying low-trust society that no longer has morals, a sense of community and unity.

Why ban guns when you could just ban all public schools and nobody would ever get shot in one ever again?

i was being facetious. i think it's a sad state of affairs when we feel the only way to keep our children safe is to turn their schools into prisons.
It's that or confront the current conundrum where people spend months arguing over whether the problem is guns or unchecked mental health issues and then do nothing on either
