Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

This shit fucking sucks. Prayers to these kid's families and friends.

I feel that something needs doing regarding investigating and pre-emptively stopping these potential shooters. Fuck, I dunno, I just hate it..
If only these three letter agencies had billions poured into them and over-reaching legislation that gives them the power to monitor every aspect of your life, we might just avoid these tragedies.

Oh, wait...

Did this school have a resource officer? My town with about the same population has two resource officers at each school for the entire school day.
This apparently went down incredibly fast. The school didn't have enough time to go into lockdown or put it out over the PA. It could be that the resource officer is the Sheriff that shot him. It almost sounds like he got straight into a classroom and didn't go through any of the protected entrances.

Lol if I had kids I wouldn’t give a shit if their school looked like a dystopian nightmare if it even had a chance of deterring an active shooter and they came home alive.

It’s sad that it’s a reality but that’s where things seem to be in America and it’s not getting better and probably won’t because it’s not an easy problem to solve.
Don’t know if it can be solved frankly but that doesn’t mean precautions shouldn’t be taken.
Then lock your kid in his room and write bible verses on his wall to keep him safe from demons.

i figure they target schools because kids are helpless. we need to arm all the children.

well what do you fucking recommend? these people are literally unstoppable. miles of virtually uninhabitable land? fences? moats? what can't they cross?
Resolve the societal factors causing so many psychos to crop up. I don't what exactly they are, but I think everything else is moot. Plus the issues causing this insanity are probably the root of many issues.

A lot of poor people schools in Texas are just a dozen double-wides with a sidewalk between them. Maybe this is something similar?

Well realistically if he is a student from Uvalde High School there is a high chance he was early in his life a student at Robb Elementary so in that case he would already know the layout of the place and everything. This theory could explain why he got around so quickly.
