Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

This one puzzles me because it seems like there was no legitimate motivation behind it. Even with the added info that he run and gunned his grandma, him driving out to what seems to be a seemingly completely random school to shoot it up still comes off as suspicious. I'm not going into "LE GLOWIES!!!!!" territory and I know it literally just happened, but there's holes in this story that just leave me utterly confused.

Instead of talking about Gun Control, how about they bring up the mental illness issue in our country? The lockdowns fucked up a lot people mentally, especially young people.
Blaming mental health is a big cope much like just blaming guns or racial politics or some single issue. It would be so easy if we could give kids prozac so they wouldn't shoot up schools. WWII vets didn't shoot up schools, Vietnam vets didn't shoot up schools. Gun laws used to be much more lax and you could get automatic weapons. Racism used to be much much worse. These shootings are modern phenomena with extremely deep explanations for why they happen that nobody in the media or political class wants to confront because they would have to talk about things like class, healthcare access, poverty, nihilism and the directionless disturbed nature of the young in the post-national globo hellstate economy that has been built.

Fun fact: Beta blockers completely halt your body's self-preservation instincts. Its the most common anti-depressant medication and makes you do things you wouldnt when you are taking it.

ALL mass shooters on the last 20 years or so in the US were using beta blockers or similar drug and were under medication for some sort of mental illness that archieves this exact same effect.

No, if you wanted to buy a gun you'd have to fill out a 4473.
Personal transfers have been mentioned. I can't buy a gun for @Null, that'd be a straw purchase, but I could sell him one.

And you don't need to fill out a 4473 or use an FFL to purchase black powder weapons, or conversion cylinders that let you fire fixed ammunition from black powder revolvers. You can order those online separately, have them sent to your US address, and assemble them into a Civil War revolver that shoots modern cowboy loads. (There are a few modern black powder guns for hunters, but most of them are reproductions for LARPers and other enthusiasts.) Even felons, in some states, can possess percussion cap revolvers as long as they don't modify them to fire fixed ammunition.

This isn't legal advice and I'm probably wrong, etc.

His mother is apparently one of the school teachers, that's the reason he went to the school.

Latest updates I've seen say 18 kids dead and one adult now. I saw this pop up while I was at work and had to keep my customer service smile on while internally hoping a hell exists so people like this can rot in it forever.
Damn he finally beat Charles Whitman's high score for the State of Texas.

He's white enough, since he used The Bad Kind of Gun.

I just want to know where an 18 year-old gets $3500 to buy rifles and plates in a poor-ass Spic town?
AR-15s are like $500 now, and how do we know he had plates?

Ah, so I'm guessing this was more of an act of personal vendetta against his own family? There's probably easier ways to pick off your family members one by one, but I guess shooting up an entire school was just seen as a bonus.

I'll be "that guy" but a rifle + plates can be had for sub $1,000, all day long.
Assuming he has the absolute shittiest gear ever though.

And who the fuck is going to pay for that fag boy?

Every US government agency from federal to local apparently has the budget for DEI departments full of gender studies and black history majors. Shut those down and use the funds for something useful, like making mental health care more affordable across the country, training more real psychologists/psychiatrists, opening free counseling centers, making state DCF agencies stop being bottomless cesspits of indifference and incompetence, and maybe giving police departments some civilian social workers who can do non-cop followups on interactions that've raised red flags on somebody before he becomes a school shooter. I bet there would even be enough money left over to buy me a pony.
