I thought the Ricky Gervais special was okay. I'm not really a fan of him (not for any social or political reason, he just doesn't do it for me), but I was happy to see the audience enjoying the trans jokes. It reminds me that normal, everyday people don't buy into this lunacy.

I thought it was only OK too and I'm usually a big fan.

What I liked about the first short trans section was that he played the role of a TRA, saying the exact shit that they say all the fucking time, and the audience was cracking up. He didn't even have to do an over the top parody of them - he just repeated the shit they say.

Some of the reviews I've seen completely misrepresent the entire set (imagine that) as if it was troon joke central, when he did 2 bits about troons (one very short, one a bit longer) in a set that was over an hour long. Also, they were seemingly not offended by his jokes about Hitler, Jews, Chinese people, AIDS etc. etc. etc.

It's interesting to watch twitter TRAs kind of walking it back and changing tactics, now that it's sinking in that threats and cancellation attempts are no longer working. They could get away with death threats and abuse and doxing when it was random women on twitter disagreeing with them, but now they have to deal with more and more celebrities with an actual platform who can see their actions, and their crybully campaign against Chappelle and Netflix didn't work and just made them look worse.

So now more and more of them are adopting this blasé "well, I actually don't mind at all, but I at least want the jokes to be funny" tone. It is a good reminder that online TRAs are cowards who will only do what they can easily get away with.

That's because that's the only thing they heard about. I'll guarantee you 90% of people complaining about Gervais didn't actually watch the show and are instead relying on second, third or even fourth-hand accounts. And so the screeching is magnified with every "generation" of hearsay.

The guy was stated by the police as being a local in a city with a 80+% Latino population in fucking Texas, and also having a girlfriend. That cuts the odds of him being an open tranny down massively. So even if he was, he'd be very deep in the closet.

I don't know. Lea Thomas peaked a lot of people who were pro-trans until they witnessed him smash women's records. People drop their belief systems all the time when they experience a lightbulb moment. I've read hundreds of posts on this very thread from former TRAs.

The name argument is a joke and if they're getting pissed at people of non-East Asian origins for choosing to adopt typical East Asian names online, then I don't know what to say. I'm sure most of these people are not changing their names IRL to "Miso" or "Mochi". But honestly, calling yourself "hamburger" is not that weird since these people want to be called "them/their" or whatever shitty pronouns.

And even then, most people's names (especially in the English-speaking world) do not match their ethnic background. The most common given names in the English-speaking world like Sarah, Benjamin, etc are of Jewish origin, yet most bearers of these names are not Jewish. I believe a few popular girls names in the English-speaking world are ultimately of Indian/Sanskrit origin as well. Hell, most East Asians (since they're talking about anime or K-pop stans) usually adopt typical Anglo-Saxon or other European style names when they come to the West. So are they "transcending East Asianess"?

Its even weirder to me because these people seem to be black and not of East Asian background, so I don't know why they're defending them (especially since East Asians are pretty open about their anti-blackness), but that's usually the case with Twitter.

Also, I thought for a second that the Texas shooter was a tranny but it looks like they aren't? I was kind of looking forward to seeing how the handmaidens would twist the narrative to paint the troon as being innocent or downplay their actions.

Most of the photos that people thought came from Sal actually came from this Reddit user.

All the accounts I know Salvador had are the Instagram account and the discord, which has been terminated. He absolutely had other ones but he didn’t really tell other people about his accounts that much other than the Instagram.

I don’t know why he shot up a fucking elementary school. I’m not even sure if I’m shocked but why the hell did he have to go Lanza, of everybody?
