Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

Traffic laws and gun laws are such an inapposite comparison that the objections overwhelm any point that might be made. Road rules apply to public roadways, they don't limit what you can own or what you can do on private property. They aren't changed on a whim by regulators, making countless people into criminals overnight and forcing them to destroy or surrender their property. They're typically handled in traffic court and result in minor fines; traffic courts don't make people into felons for not noticing a sign, not knowing how much of a business's revenue comes from alcohol sales, going onto public land that's owned by the wrong agency (e.g. Army Corps of Engineers vs. National Park Service), failing to know when they are 1000 feet from a school, driving through New Jersey, or transiting through a New York airport. You might get a ticket for window tint or colored lights, but you won't be convicted of a felony if the state doesn't like your car's cosmetic features or they think the controls are too easy to operate. You don't have to get permission from a Federal agency and pay a $200 tax to install a muffler and make your car quieter, you won't go to prison if you build your own, and you won't go to prison if you have a muffler for a toy. Traffic courts won't take away your driver's license for life if you are convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence or a felony. You might get ticketed for driving an unsafe vehicle if you make an illegal modification to your car, but the FBI won't shoot your wife.
