Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

Anything but their precious full automatics. Blame it on mental health, blame it on the border, anything so that their weapons stay safe. All the children could die tomorrow of gun violence and only civil war would stop conservatards sperging about their need for their AR-15s.
Let the little bitty bodies hit the floor. Mah fuckin gun collection will always be more precious than the souls of some children. There’s a shortage of baby formula, not ammo.

Oh im sorry, the semi autos with a 30 round mag are so much better for children's skulls huh?
Thanks for admitting that there’s no amount of regulation that will satisfy you people. You didn’t stop with automatics, you won’t stop with 30 round magazines. The end goal is a death by a thousand cuts. This is the problem I have with anti-gun advocacy, there’s no line in the sand where you can admit “alright, these measures are truly common sense and limits the restriction of rights as best as possible.” Instead, it’s a constant doubling down on the flawed idea that private gun ownership and violence has any sort of correlation.

There is something going on with the USA that's somehow linked to mass shootings. Maybe a mix of mental illness, education, and culture, I can't say for sure, I just don't know.
Well lets see... all the labels are propping up degenerate singers that rap about how much they do crime and have sex. I cannot think of one good roll model that the music industry has produced in the last X years.
Josh made a good point on MATI saying something like "you are born into a country that hates you, you go though a shitty education system so you can take on thousands of dollars of debt so that you can become an accountant and never own a house or have a family."

Nobody wants to spend the money necessary to give quality health care to the crazy and the last time we had most of our crazy people in asylums they were subject to all manner of abuse.

I would theorize the political class doesn't want to solve mass shootings by instituting Government funded asylums again. Because how would they energize their base without mass shootings or white supremacy? Come on. Just think like a sociopath and the answer is clear.

It’s like the idea of “horizon of expectations” except it’s a horizon of what gun regulations there are. And at some point of time you pick the bottom 90% and try to get that banned, so you’re left with a smaller horizon that you’ll get back to next year.

im looking forward to see you solving gun violence.
Since you don't understand what you're talking about, let me explain what the United States would need to do to stop gun violence by banning guns.
1) Close borders, invest a trillion or more dollars on personnel, security systems, infrastructure, and logistics.
2) Force every American to give up their weapons. (Over 400 million guns / 40%+ of Americans own guns)
3) Enforce ways to stop people from 3d printing guns.
4) Enforce ways to stop people from manufacturing guns.
5) Install a surveillance system all over the United States including rural areas, with facial recognition software, so we can identify people with guns.

Just last week, NYT ran an article saying schizophrenics shouldn't be medicated because "there's a stigma and it's mean and stuff".

"You need to compromise!"

"Compromise" means I get something in return. "Give up your guns and we won't kill your family and imprison you for life" is not compromise, it's blackmail.

But they could put all the /pol/tards in asylum

If you cannot be bothered to understand which gun laws are already on the books, then you have no business dictating the law to the rest of us.
Texas doesn't have magazine limits, nor owners licenses or registration you fucking mongoloid. Expanded capacity are perfectly legal there. https://www.texasgunlaws.org/

No amount of regulation? Oh god forbid we use psych checks, registrations and don't let people use large capacity magazines with mil spec attachments. God forbid.

Uneducated here again. Are there any countries in the world that actually have full on gun bans? Seems that a lot of ones like England are propped up by liberals as gun free havens but actually have lots of hunting rifles and other guns owned by civilians especially in the countryside. Not even Australia actually took back all of them. Might be really wrong here though

Then there would be the issue of taking the guns away themselves, where I’m sure some would rather shoot the people trying to take them than give them up. It would be a nightmare for government officials to do a mass gun seizure and would end in lots of death.

Oh I'm sorry, the buffalo shooter did have a gun that didnt' allow 30 round mags, but he modified it with his Dad's drill. (omg thats illegal!)
That's it. From now on americans will only be allowed to use these drills.

This is the only way to prevent illegal modification of firearms

the only solution is to reopen government psychiatric hospitals and change the laws that prohibit involuntary long-term commitment.
I agree. I worked in a secure hospital for the mentally ill (sone of them convicted criminals) and it was best for the incarcerated and for society at large. The “care in the community” ethos led to societal rot.

To me America wouldn’t have the 1st Amendment without the 2nd. An armed population is one able to speak its mind.

I guess it boils down to America’s desire to misgender and deadname trannies over keeping nippers safe ….

yeah, it's sad, but this is why it's not easy to fix gun violence in America.

Psych evaluations as a prerequisite to exercise your rights will only further encourage those who need help to refuse it out of fear of losing those rights because of a medical condition. Whether or not you want to believe it, tacticool plastic shit doesn’t make a firearm more deadly. 30 round magazines are standard, outlawing them would turn millions of Americans into felons overnight for legally buying a plastic box for no real benefit. Those who want to harm others would keep theirs or just 3D print themselves some.
