Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

If you want to buy a gun at an FFL you must be physically present in order to complete the ATF Form 4473 and whatever forms the state you're in wants you to complete and you must be present when the salesperson submits NICS and you wait for however long it takes for NICS to finish, depending if the state uses the FBI or how efficient the state NICS unit is.

Side note, Pennsylvania has an awesome PICS (PSP NICS unit) unit because you can get your check done in like under 3 minutes 98% of the time.

This debate always feels intellectually dishonest. The left pretends that it wants 'reasonable gun safety compromises' (it doesn't) that will have a chance to do something (they won't). Because we have a history of seeing the gun control laws in action being squeezed further and further. 1934 we had to give up our automatics. 1968 you had to give up your ability to convert old guns into automatics, and have a background check. 1986-1989 you had several gun control bills passed that made it impossible to own any (automatic) firearm made after 1989.

finally they did the 1994 assault weapons ban and because of it's temporary nature they didn't react. but after Columbine there was a big push to ban either all handguns. It was during the bush years that the gun rights lobby got it's act together, several splinter organizations made sure that fudds in the NRA couldn't control the voice of gun owners and you see a massive change in sentiment. The LA riots, war on terrorism, and the summer of Floyd and covid have only made more Americans realize a gun is the only way to remain free in most cases.

There reasons are flawed. Not understanding ease of access and thinking every angry dumbass can 3d print or illegally buy one is nothing but a scare tactic to stop reasonable gun control.

Reasonable gun control is one of those cases where the road to hell starts off with the best of intentions no one wants dead kids or piles of bodies. The problem is gun control almost inevitably will be used as an excuse to disarm the opposition and in most cases that's when oppression of a population begins. The US has a long history of giving up your guns to the authorities then subsequently you're being terrorized and ethnically cleansed off your land.

Most "reasonable gun control" is at best toothless at stopping mass shooter's and at worst actually favors criminal elements by allowing them to bypass rules while normal law abiding people are put yet again through another loophole because some psycho wanted to kill his granny and a bunch of kids because he's an internet faggot.

I'm watching re-runs of the live, at the time, on the scene footage (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODn3_C5ezsU) and it's just not right. Every emergency vehicle within a 15 mile radius would be at an event like that, especially ambulances and especially with kids as victims. So far, I've seen 1 (ONE) fucking ambulance and a smattering of squad cars. Small groups of police wandering about. Small groups of people standing around, talking. Where's the 100s of panicking, distraught parents and family members of pupils at the location, desperately seeking information about their kids?

Maybe you're right and further footage might arrive, but if this is all we ever get, then I'm declaring shenanigans.
