The railroad spike went through his skull through his eyeball, the guy didn't get cracked in the head with a 2x4. It was mentioned only a few pages back that Shadman isn't required to attend those court hearings - if it's labeled "non-appear" he doesn't have to be there in person. It was also discussed previously in this thread that the reason he doesn't need to appear is because Shadman is probably in a court-ordered psychiatric ward and his shrink is talking to the judge of those days to give their professional opinion as to whether or not Shad is mentally competent enough for either trial or release - hence the "Mental Competency Referral Ord(er)" way back in October last year: it's highly likely - if not undoubtedly likely - that Shadman is currently locked up in the looney bin.

May 13th may prove interesting, though, since the court hearing is "further proceedings" instead of a "non-appear", which may mean that Shad will be brought in front of the judge again instead of his shrink. It'll at least be a change of pace.

I won't disagree that they did praise Shadman on his art skills, and thus boister his motivation to continue, but I would disagree that Shadman wouldn't have gone down the path he did if the Newgrounds lads hadn't been in the picture. Shad was making the same violent, rape-fantasy "art" and child-torture "art" on DeviantArt (and another art forum I can't remember the name of but saw screen-caps of) prior to joining Newgrounds; prior to when he met Zach and Oney. He even made his own website to host the content that Newgrounds wouldn't allow - since I think Jeff put his foot down about allowing Shad to host CP on NG despite not being able to convince Tom to kick Shadman off completely.

Shadman was fucked in the head before he arrived at Newgrounds, was fucked in the head while he was at Newground, and remains fucked in the head today when he has next-to-nothing to do with Newgrounds. The fault lies with Shadman, not the people who were around him. Especially since many of the people around him either softly disagreed with the shit he drew (like Mick, whom Shadman lived with) or - in the case of Jeff - were adamantly apposed to it.

That’s interesting. I wonder if he gets home passes. Not sure how California is, but in some states if you’re at a hospital or facility long enough you can get those. If he’s ordered by the court he to be there, and since he’s pretrial, it’s not likely.

So he gets ordered for a mental health evaluation in November, and he doesn’t appear to pop up in the inmate locators online. He’s either at a hospital or released.

I only see one “Prejean” in CA jail and it isn’t him
