Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

During the 'sequence of events' they gave on tv it isn't clear when he began shooting kids. But after he crashed the car outside the school he ran toward the school and exchanged fire with cops before entering the school itself.

So did he shoot kids before the cops cornered him inside the school or after, even more baffling.

I’m sorry but wasn’t the shooter stopped by a border patrol agent who’s balls had actually dropped going in by themselves? maybe not muh tactically sensible, but Yknow, kids lives at risk. I don’t see much defense for the cops in this scenario.
What about the time spent engaging the cops, think maybe a few kids could have made it out alive. I’m sorry, I wasn’t there, I wasn’t in the moment, I don’t know their policy or how I would act, but at the end of the day I didn’t see much “protecting and serving” going on by the PD if this scenario is true.

Also, I was under the impression that since the North Hollywood Shootout, regular cops were to be equipped with "fucking assault rifles" to deal with this exact thing. So the idea that all they had were "rinky dink" pistols and tasers seems suspect.

I can believe that. Accuracy is so abysmally low on modern battlefields because something like 90% of soldiers become conscientious objectors when they're looking at a fellow human being on the other end of their sights. Missing on purpose allows them to appear as though they are participating in the killing with plausible deniability.

If their opponent is masked, it's easier for them to believe the dehumanizing propaganda they've been fed about their enemy. There's a reason the majority of "bad guys" are masked as they're slaughtered in most media.
