Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

Would not be surprised if this was just another "have this shit ass deco so we can sell you the good one later" situation.
that or Hasbro is just so incompetent they don't know what the character looks like while still giving him specific details like the upside down g2 logos, which I find kind of hard to believe.
I wonder if this will get Takara off their asses to do it proper, one of the only japanese Siege exclusives(if not the only one? I cant remember) was a Nemesis Prime, so I wouldn't be surprised if they give him the proper deco as some sort of Takara Mall exclusive.

There was one Takara Nemesis Prime but then Hasbro made their own version that came with a Trailer and everyone liked that Hasbro version better.

Scourge's shoulder cannons make sense having pink behind them because if you open them up and stick blast effects on them they'll resemble the show mid fight.

Shockwave Labs will probably make some LED's for it to make the pink look better

Checking out Wildriders transformation. Sometimes I'm alright with his backpack given the transformation other times I look at and think they could have done better. I don't feel like half of these steps are even needed and are just here to make the transformation look good despite the end result.

I don't even understand what they were going for with the backpack, why split it and make it into even more kibble?

Not bad for legends scale. Not a huge fan of the face as it's a little too realistic and the "breasts" seem a little too large. At least at this scale the backpack make sense. I'm a little concerned with the arms though.

By the look of things each of the bot modes will be compromised to have a good looking train.

Not sure who they really want to sell this to. The bots don't look like MP's and you could buy a better looking train for half the cost that can go on some tracks. The shape also gives off Combiner Wars vibes.

From the 2 we have seen so far the robot modes are spot on, the trains being the focus makes sense, they're fully licensed which means they have to be accurate & the train modes were always really important to the Trainbots.
combined mode does look scuffed so far but it'll probably have some weird interesting engineering at least.

I'm okay with this repaint. The energy wing things look to be used for the locust abdomen. Good use of those. One would think that's what they were originally designed to be. The clear plastic really didn't give that away.

The weird inaccurate colors on the scourge are something I'm surprised nobody else has picked up on. Most people are going "oh they just made hima generic nemesis prime!" But the clear shoulders thing and a bunch of other color placement is clearly attempting a callback to the last "modernized" scourge before the headmaster one that had a more faithful colorscheme. The takara exclusive redeco of the deluxe laser prime's the one this one's taking the colors off of. His shoulders and chest were also a similar color. This new one is pretty much like if they applied that colorscheme to the original design's aesthetics. I do want them to make a more accurate to the og toy and animation one at some point, but I really like how this one looks too.

it really doesn't look anything like LGEX Scourge besides the clear pink highlights in the shoulders, he still uses the signature grey hes known for.

Yeah the grey is in different spots, weird changes, but I can tell what they were probably going for. The fucking black crotch is the weirdest color choice IMO, makes him look like he's wearing a tight ass speedo or some shit.

Yeah its really bizarre. I just find it strange they named it Black Convoy & went through the effort of giving him the upside down autobot logos but then gave him completely different colors.
I'm thinking they're either going to do another one later, maybe without the trailer in proper colors or something.

If you're referring to the black Laser Optimus from Legacy, it's because he's neither Scourge nor Nemesis Prime. He's Velocitron Black Convoy. I actually don't mind the translucent hot pink with the black and teal since they're taking so much inspiration from G2 instead of G1 like they did with the WFC line.

Black convoy is the JP name for scourge, my guess is they're calling him that to avoid brand confusion with the g1 scourge on shelves. If I remember this correctly, "grand scourge" from the takara version of energon that had a remake in combiner wars is the one time he's called scourge in japan, nd that's technically not even the same guy.
