This is what kills any real legal avenue.
If Ralph was concerned about them, he should have approached police officers or even someone like a shop security guard.
As ralph went and antagonized them and made the first attack he is just as much an aggressor as they were.
Six to one, half dozen to the other, as my friends mother used to say whenever we kids would get into arguments over toys or games.
I agree, any argument Ralph has about this being an ambush is thrown straight out the window after he told Cog to come find him. You don't get to entice someone on your property and then shoot them, even in the most castle doctrine of states and even if they commit a crime. Ralph told Cog to come find him, Cog called his bluff, Ralph started a confrontation and then Dan ended it. Thrice.
Gunt Guards saying Cog "threw the first punch" are being completely disingenuous. Ralph is clearly the agressor, clearly started the confrontation and violence. Ralph walks up to Cog aggressively with a hostile tone.
Not to say Cogs a saint in all this, I was one of the early posters about this as I was so god damned lucky to get to see it live. I was saying Cog was dumb from the start, and would feel it entirely warranted for him to get into minor legal troubles over it. Maybe if Ralph wasn't a spastic, narcissistic, exceptional individual, he would of come out of this looking like the better man. Maybe Cog and Dan would of stalked him until he was in a remote quiet area, beat him to the hospital again, and really deserved jail time. We'll never know, cause Ralph went off like a Chihuahua and gave Cog and Dan all the justification they needed to beat and embarrass Ralph and walk away Scot free.
