Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Honestly the one expansion was probably in the development pipeline just before CDPR had to dump god knows how much money into unfucking the game and the lolsuits. They’ve still made their money, but I can’t imagine even the Poles wanting to keep throwing good money after bad - I expect a lot of recycled and totally not cut content

Honestly, if the entire expansion was just giving us things to do in Night City other than “Go here, kill everything”, I think most of us would be… ambivalent at best about it

Combat arenas? How lazy can these fucking Polacks get?
Not an arena. A Combat Zone is a Cyberpunk thing where the cops have officially declared the area a no-go zone for them, or anyone else interested in not getting shot at. You know, like the worst neighborhoods in Chicago where Lightfoot recently claimed "mutual combat" after a shooting happened. So, some sort of new area to go to and do things, and kill or be killed. You know, like Pacifica but even worse.

Yea he kinda sucked. I'd have loved to play the original rags to riches street thug storyline that supposedly existed before the entire thing got re tooled to focus around Silverhand and the relic.
Would have been better if they kept him like a mentor or something to show you the ropes and help you grow. Would have made corpo runs interesting where you could try to convince him it's the best way to get the resources required to rid yourself of each other despite it being the life you want. Just constant bants with each other and maybe even opening his eyes a bit depending on checks, possibly even betraying him like a true corpo for shits and giggles.

The whole "He's overtaking you, DO SOMETHING" shit was such trash because it was a shallow take on the entire thing. They could have really explored "what makes a soul?", but everyone involved was too retarded to pull it off.

Based. They scrubbed that from the net.

I remember all the hype this game got. I didn't preorder but I waited for it to be released. Then I waited for reviews. Turns out the game was a dissapointing pile of shit. So I skipped it. I have so many games I haven't played or even completed I don't need another one. Especially one that isn't that good. Definitely not for $60.

I remember spending the entirety of the shitfest known as 2020 - once the April release date came and went - pinning my hopes on CP2077 being the one beacon in the then living nightmare.

Then it dropped near Christmas, and it turned out to be broken shit. Then it rained continiously. Then we got locked up for another 3 months.

Call me a fag but not only do first impressions of a game last - no matter what developers manage to improve subsequent - but I’ll never forget the headspace I was at when this game turned out to be such an incredibly overhyped disappointment.

I wasn't that hyped for the game, but the Cyberpunk setting did look interesting. Like I said, I just waited for reviews, and I never bought it. I was still playing RDR2 and some of Doom Eternal at the time.

My favorite thing is all the people who thought CDPR would take CP2077 and make it into the game they said they were making. I knew when they were taking RPG off the game's description that there were problems. Just no one knew how bad.

The most damning video was that one by that guy Crowbcat on YouTube. Showing how games that came out long before CP2077 has better open worlds and so on.

I never, EVER get hyped for games. CP2077 remains the only game I have ever pre-ordered in my life (first and last). Classic combo of being sold on both cyberpunk setting and being a huge fan of Witcher series.

But exactly what you said - alarm bells were ringing when the RPG tag was dropped. I knew the writing was on the wall at that point.
