Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

Update (1630ET): The gunman who massacred 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas lingered outside for 12 minutes firing shots at people in a funeral home across the street, before scaling a fence onto school grounds where he fired more shots. He then entered the school and barricading himself in a classroom before opening fire, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Victor Escalon, a regional director for the Texas Department of Public Safety, said he couldn’t say why no one stopped the deceased gunman, 18 year-old Salvador Ramos, from entering the school during that time Tuesday. Most of the shots Ramos fired came during the first several minutes when he entered the school, Mr. Escalon said.
DPS officials previously said an armed school officer confronted Ramos as he arrived at the school. Mr. Escalon said Thursday that information was incorrect and no one encountered Ramos as he arrived at the school. “There was not an officer readily available and armed,” Mr. Escalon said. -WSJ
Ramos began Tuesday morning shooting his grandmother in the face, then using her truck to drive to the school - crashing it into a ditch at around 11:28 am according to a timeline laid out by Escalon.

We militarized the police, and yet the nog rebellion of 2020 lasted nearly the whole summer in many cities and cost billions of dollars in damages.

I know, one of you tards will say those were "peaceful protestors" so it's not like they could use lethal force. Yet when a mass shooter barricades himself in an Uvalde elementary school, the police (which gets 40% of the towns funding it turns out) need to stand around outside for an hour because they're not prepared and need backup.

I don't want to sound crazy or anything, but it kind of feels like militarizing the police is turning out to be a big waste of money designed sole to put you down as a law abiding citizen.
Apologies for double post, but yes, I remember that. They stood back and let cities burn, because making the black kids angry was bad.

All that chimping out and all they did was give money to Democrats.

All that tactical gear so they can get their GWOT look on.

And not one had the guts to use it for its intended purpose.

How much you want to bet that in a week they start strutting around like they're Billy Badass again?

I hope the city slashes their budget to 0% and tells them all to fuck off.

"WE COULD HAVE BEEN SHOT!"

My Brother in Christ, that risk is in your very job description.
Same as in the military, the unwritten "unlimited liability" clause. Troops would have gone in and neutralized the threat.

Needs to be some house cleaning, might even happen. Am sure the community is outraged.

Would add that if an 18-year-old can carry an M-16 and fight for their country, they have the right to purchase an AR-15. The vast majority who buy such weapons never commit any crimes.

And there it is. The root cause of the cops failure. This clown is what passes for a command officer. Cops are not generally good or bad on their own. They are always a reflection of those in charge.

LMFAO thinking public schools are politically motivated and incompetent is now a conspiracy theory. You are a fuck tard.
Everything is a conspiracy. A dog shits on your yard? Must be a conspiracy of the Left! No the Jews. No the FBI, the CIA, the NSA. They did it, all together and in super secret with nobody ever finding out. Using their alien derived andrenochrome injections on the dog to brain wash it into taking a shit on your lawn.

See, I can make up my own bullshit theories too.

Right after 9/11 someone called a bomb threat into our school. The teachers were freaking out and trying to organize some kind of evacuation. My high school was also the middle school as well, so we were upstairs and all the middle schoolers were all downstairs so trying to organize some kind of evacuation was quite chaotic. A shit ton of cops with the fire department and ambulances showed up. The cops parked their cars across the street from the school and hid behind their cars. It was the paramedics and the fire fighters that had the balls to go and help evacuate the building. The next school board meeting was quite interesting as the parents were irate, it got even more hostile when the Chief of Police said the reason they didn't go in was because there might have been a bomb in the building and they were going to wait for the bomb disposal unit to come, which was over an hour away.

That's right, Joe. That's the only reason I would ever need one.

But there are times when I am legally allowed to kill someone.

And if such circumstances were to arise, I would be fortunate to have such a weapon.
Joe, you are sending war materiel to Ukraine, which is currently using child soldiers at a time when the US has critically low stores of munitions and is need of the many many billions of dollars you have sent to them.

You were Vice President during Fast & Furious.

You do not get to talk to me about assault weapons and why I want one.

How the FUCK are these kids affording goddamn firearms that run upwards of a thousand dollars?

Every time I see one of these mass shootings and the shooter has like $15K worth the guns, body armor, bullets, a go-pro, night vision goggles, an armored Humvee, two Predator drones, sat-images of where he's going to attack, and 6 months of surveillance tapes, I keep asking...

FUCKING HOW?

You never see them pull it off with some piece of shit zip gun or an old bolt action or an old shotgun.

Nope.

Always state of the art AR-15 with a shit-ton of tacticool bullshit.

And they wonder why people are starting to go "Hmm, how long has the FBI known about him, when did the ATF visit him, and when did he get reported by the authorities?"
Yes, it boggles the mind
