Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

15 years ago whenever they would announce a new Star Wars project, whatever it was it would always garner an enormous amount of hype and excitement. Star Wars was THE franchise. Nothing else could compare. It had a larger than life reputation which made it untouchable. Now it's become so stale and monotonous it just blends in with all the other assembly lane franchises like Marvel.

A bunch of big projects just got announced and nobody really cares or will bother watching them except for the biggest of hardcore fans. Just goes to show how badly Disney missed the mark with their reboot. Started with the Force Awakens which made 2 billion and now they can't even get their projects into theaters, everything is just direct to streaming which is the modern equivalent of direct to DVD. Star Wars is a dead nigger franchise.

They have finally released a trailer for Caspian Border or whatever the lispy spic's name was from Rogue One. It's another #Resist story with cheap Imperial costumes and weapon props.

Where are all the aliens? Every single character in that trailer is just another bland diverse human.

God this looks so bland and generic.
And cheap as fuck.

The costumes are low quality (the things on the belts look like plastic that they forgot to paint), the sets look like a fan production (the door frame barely holds on the wall).

Thats both because series dont have the same budget movies do and because, and this may be speculating on my part but, I dont think Disney has that much hope for SW anymore.
I feel like they have deep down accepted it after The Rise of Skywalker and Solo underperformed that SW would never be a flop maker but they have obviously killed the golden goose. Thats why they are doing these series and saying that SW's place is on Disney + and serialization. Its low risk shit.

Disney will never outright and say it but they have legit lost money on the long term with this franchise. If they had the power of hindsight, I legit dont think they would have bothered.

But what is done is done and Disney knows they cant just shelve this franchise (to do so would be very finantially disadvantageous) so they are trying a similar tactic from the MCU with SW and see what will happen. If it doesnt work, oh well, not a big loss, if it does work, they will smile and wave at the camera like they own the place.

They are mostly doing what they see as popular, thus why we are getting stuff like Boba Fett, Kenobi and Ahsoka. They know that people like these characters so you bet they will milk them for what they are worth.

Thats why they are doing a Rogue One prequel series with blando mc white lead with the cool robot companion. He is no Han Solo, guys...the blind guy would have been a better option. But yes, they know Rogue One was argurably the "best" of their movies in the long run, thus they are going to milk it too.

Dont be fooled and think this is anything but desperation over what to do with a brand that they had no right of ever owning.

Not sure what is still live from Star Wars Celebrations. Flicked on the live stream just now. There was an interview with the actress that plays Reeva and the actor who plays in inquisitor. Reeva actress basically confirmed she didn't know star wars and did no prep watching star wars.

It was a, "I watched the prequels." and then a "I never watched Star Wars."

Interview was so short. Inquistor guy was, "I like Star Wars, watched Clone Wars in detail to prepare."

That was like it. As if it was cut short because the actress was all, "I don't know the Star Wars."

The Andor series, what's the deal with like one shot of the character the series is named after?

Never mind the whole “rich/poor” dynamic that had been done pretty fucking poorly in The Last Jedi along with countless other forms of entertainment.

It's also strange how they seem to forget the Republic was meant to be good.

The outer rim was out of their control. Yet seemingly every world in Star Wars is now some corrupt backwater planet struggling.

Shouldn't most of the Galaxy under control have been like Naboo? Technologically advanced and civilised. Not just poor people struggling?

I can get people living simple lives like the shrimp farmers in Mando.

The weird view of the Empire as technologically advanced evil space colonialists just seems dumb.

Flicking back onto celebrations. Andor will be a different character apparently. His origin to going to Rebellion. I assume space Latino done hard by the Empire colonialists.

Mon Mothra lady implied Palpatine is in Andor.

Diego went on in Spanish and the crowd who probably couldn't understand it kept cheering.

In one other segment, they had some Soy who was commissioned to make a model of a Space Station for some Star Wars project. Apparently a very Star Wars design, yet looked like generic from any Sci-Fi. Like the capital ships from Firefly. Circle with skyscrapers.

Disney attempted to shit out a Star Wars film every year for 5 years until Solo bombed. They completely failed to realize that Star Wars was such an event because you only got a new movie once every few years between decades. Now they're just manufacturing television shows ever week for as long as possible with the tired OT/Rogue One le grimdark aesthetic, if not something even cheaper looking like Book of Booba Fett.
It's also strange how they seem to forget the Republic was meant to be good.
George may have wrote that there here heroes on both sides in ROTS but I think it started with Rogue One turning the Rebels into straight up terrorists. It always felt kind of weird to me because they were always on the side of good, but now Disney is trying to make them space Al Qaida. JJ never gave a damn so he blew up the New Republic in The Fail Awakens and refused to show it onscreen because prequels bad, thereby destroying the politics of the galaxy. Rian failed to follow up because he was too busy sucking his own dick.

And cheap as fuck.

This was the problem with them coming out with Rogue One immediately after TFA. Since they refuse to make anything that's not OT based everything will be compared to it. It's such a ridiculous downgrade especially since the only thing RO had going for it was being a big budget fanfilm wankfest with a huge budget and epic visuals. Everything looks cheap in comparison. Like going from Robocop the movie to Robocop the TV show.

And am I one of the few people sick and tired of live action OT TV shows? For fucks sake do something else.

Luke told him to choose between becoming a Jedi or going back to Mando. He picked Mando.
I knew people would be fucking confused as all hell on why Grogu is back with Din.

This is why you as storytellers don't put critical info in a show most of the fans don't watch. People will rightly ask why did they not have this at the beginning of the new season instead of another show.

On the penultimate episode of Book of Boba Fett, no less. Because that's how Disney organizes their shows apparently; have major plot points for one show get addressed as a random episode for a show about an entirely different character.

The trailer for the third season of The Mandalorian got leaked:

It looks good.
At the very least I think Katie Sackhoff could play a good villain. But if they want to have Thrawn Campaign II: Filoni Boogaloo they really need to get the ball rolling instead of just having Mando putz around on outer rim shitholes.

I mean, she kinda was one on Battlestar Galactica. No one was a good guy in that show.
